ATLANTA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ANNOUNCES 2009 SYMPHONY BALL Evening To Feature Performances By Jazz-Legend And Honorary Chair Wynton Marsalis And Members Of The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Proceeds to Benefit The ASO Learning Community

The swinging sounds of jazz will be in the air at the 21st Annual Atlanta Symphony Ball, which will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Regis Atlanta and will honor Jazz-legend Wynton Marsalis and his years of dedication to the arts. The evening will also include performances by Mr. Marsalis and members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. About the Atlanta Symphony Ball Atlantas most anticipated event of the year will be held at the prestigious St. Regis Atlanta. Kathy Rainer and Tricky Wolfes of Parties To Die For will recreate the ambiance of an early 1920s jazz club, using soft lighting and beautifully draped tables. This elegant jazz club scene will serve as the backdrop for a cocktail reception, after which guests will be escorted to a ballroom transformed into an Art Deco masterpiece for performances by Wynton Marsalis and members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Patron guests will begin their evening at 6:00 p.m. in an exclusive VIP Tent Lounge on the St. Regis terrace. They will be serenaded by an ASO jazz trio, while enjoying the opportunity to meet jazz-legend Wynton Marsalis. After a dinner prepared by St. Regis Atlanta Chef Jonathan Jerusalmy, patrons will have the opportunity to bid on luxury items in a silent and live auction. Guests will continue toasting the evening with desserts, dancing, and the music of the band, Anita. Proceeds from the 2009 Atlanta Symphony Ball will benefit the ASOs Learning Community programs, including the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Talent Development Program. These two initiatives have created a lasting impact by creating professional opportunities for a diverse group of young Atlanta-area musicians. Proceeds will also support several ambitious

community engagement partnerships with local institutions that have enabled ASO musicians to regularly reach and teach area children about the value and joy of music.
