Application Processing Fee


A non-refundable application processing fee of 35 must accompany the application for admission.

Academic Quarter System


Any three quarters are considered an academic year. The standard academic year is comprised of Fall (October), Winter (January) and Spring (March) quarters. There is a summer intersession in June and additional summer quarter commencing in July. See Academic Calendar for details. The Online course fee includes Virtual Campus access, online library, 24/7 technical support, and all course materials, which may include e-books, textbooks, and/or software. Graduation Fee

A non-refundable graduation fee (currently 80, subject to change) will be billed to students earning a degree, during the last quarter of their program. Graduation Fee includes administrative costs associated with graduation activities (ceremony, diploma, etc.).

Part-time

Students taking less than 12 credit hours per quarter will be charged the Part-time tuition rate, subject to student visa regulations.

Academic Overload

Undergraduate students taking more than 13.5 credit hours per quarter will be charged the Academic overload tuition rate. Academic overloads are subject to prior approval by the Program Dean.

Supplies

Students are responsible for providing materials and supplies required for classes. Although costs of supplies vary according to the program of study, students should plan on an average of 150 per quarter for basic art, design and/or drafting supplies. Advanced classes require additional supplies, and the costs are determined by the students choice of projects.

Studio/Lab Fees
Some courses require a studio/lab fee. History of Theatre Class carries an additional fee of 175.

Student Housing (optional)


Accommodation is provided on a term-by-term basis for students who request housing. The non-refundable housing fee is 2,500 for a ten week quarter and 1,250 for a five week Summer session. A 50 Dorm key deposit will be charged in the first term. Once the key is returned to the Student Housing Office, the deposit will be refunded. If the key is not returned, deposit is non-refundable. All our rooms are single ensuite and studios. Limited number of studios are charged 2,700 for a ten week term, and 1,350 for a five week Summer session, and will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. For details please speak to your Admissions Advisor or refer to the online housing brochure. Housing charges are subject to change. Availability and choice of rooms are subject to demand. Students are not charged for student housing for breaks between the terms, except Christmas break, the charge for which is 470 (ensuite) and 500 (studio).

University for the Creative Arts (Design Programs)


Students enrolled in University for the Creative Arts validated programs will be required to pay an enrolment fee upon signing an agreement with AIU London. The enrolment fee is 500. This enrolment fee is subject to change.

Buckinghamshire New University (Business Program)


Students enrolled in Buckinghamshire New University validated programs will be required to pay an enrolment fee upon signing an agreement with AIU London. The enrolment fee is 500. This enrolment fee is subject to change.

London South Bank University Validated Programs*


Students enrolled in London South Bank University validated programs will be required to pay an enrolment fee upon signing an agreement in their senior year with AIU London. The enrolment fee is 363. This enrolment fee is subject to change. *As of April 14, 2010, no new students will be enrolled under the London South Bank University (LSBU) validation program.

Study trips to various parts of the world are scheduled annually. The fee covers round-trip transportation, hotel accommodation and tuition. Students are responsible for their meals and incidentals. Students may earn 4.5 hours of academic credit upon satisfactory completion of requirements set by the instructor.

Registration for Classes

AIU London is committed to ensuring that students are able to register for classes in a timely manner. To this end the following regulations governing registration have been put in place. Stage 1 Registration Students in good academic, immigration and financial standing will be automatically registered by the Academic Advisors according to their degree progress as soon as registration opens. Payment deadline: 5 pm last working day before classes begin. Students who are registered for classes but fail to pay by the above deadline, will be charged Late Payment fee of 500 on the first day of term. Failure to make final payment or payment arrangements with Finance by 5 pm of the last working day before classes begin will result in students being dropped from all classes, not allowed to resume their studies that term and being withdrawn from school. Stage 2 Registration Students who failed to register in stage 1 due to immigration or pending financial issues must address those before the Academic Advisors can help them sign up for classes. Payment deadline: 5 pm last working day before classes begin. Students who are registered for classes but fail to pay by the above deadline, will be charged Late Payment feeof 500 on the first day of term. Stage 3 Late Registration Students who failed to register in stages 1 and 2 due to immigration or pending financial issues must address those and arrange tuition payment in advance before the Academic Advisors can help them sign up for classes. All students registering in stage 3 will incur 250 Late Registration fee.

Course Overload
The normal academic load for undergraduate is 13.5 credit hours and for graduate programs is 18 credits hours per term Registering for additional classes is available to those students considered to be in good academic standing and with the permission of the Program Dean

1. 2. Students taking less than 15 credit hours during the June five-week Summer intersession will not incur the part-time tuition premium and will be charged on a full-time per-credit-hour basis. The application fee is a one-time fee that may only be waived in certain circumstances. The application fee may only be waived for students who are: re-entering; re-enrolling; enrolling with established articulation or Educational Alliances Center agreements; AIU Alumni; transferring from a CEC-sponsored school; or a CEC employee. Custom suite of course materials for the Virtual Campus online courses are provided to the student by Words of Wisdom, LLC. At the Universitys discretion, books may be delivered in an electronic (e-Book) or standard textbook format. Students not wishing to use e-Books are responsible for any additional charges associated with purchasing standard textbooks. The University does not charge for transfer credits.

Fee Status
