CHAPTER FOUR ANALYSIS AND PRESENTATION OF DATA 4.

1 DATA PRESENTATION This chapter involves the presentation and analysis of data gathered from the questionnaires which were administered on the sample selected. For the analysis, simple percentage were used. The statistical tool adopted was opted for because it allows for effective understanding and interpretation of results. 4.2 DATA ANALYSIS The questionnaires were designed to get the respondents views on a number of issues relating business studies programme in the selected school. A summary of the questionnaires to each category of respondent and the response rate is presented in Table 4.1. 4.3 RESPONDENTS VIEW ON BUSINESS STUDIES PROGRAMME IN THE SELECTED SCHOOL In order to know and fully understand the residents perception on environmental problems in an emerging urban quarter, using Abraka Urban as case study, the degree of respondents opinion was sought using a five-point Likert scale statements and the degree of their answers measured on the following scale as shown below: Strongly agreed (5) agreed (4) indifference (3) disagree (2) and strongly disagree (1) Table4.3: RESPONDENTS VIEW TO QUESTION ONE: BUSINESS STUDIES IS EFFECTIVE IN MY SCHOOL RESPONSE MALE FEMALE NO. The response in Table 2 tried to affirm business studies in effective in their schools. From the responses, 53.3% of the respondents strongly agreed that business studies is effective in their school, 7.7% agreed that business studies is effective in their school, 8.8% were indifferent and 13.3 % disagrees sees and 6.6% of the respondents strongly disagree that business studies is being effective in their school. The breakdown as presented the table above indicates that most respondents believe that business studies very effective in their school. Table 4.4 shows that majority of the respondent agreed that business studies will help them to be self reliance, with 55.5 % strongly agreeing to the question and 13.3% agree to the question. Mean while, 11.1 % were in indifference. In contrast, 11.1% respondents disagree with the notion that business studies will make them o be self reliant and 4.4% strongly disagree. None of the population were indifferent as they all express varied opinions, 11.1% of the populations are of the view that business studies were not taught with instructional materials and 8.8% strongly disagrees with the notion that business studies were taught with instructional materials. agree to the question. 15.5% and 11.1% of the population sample strongly agree and agreed that their friends encourage them to study business studies. Whereas 11.1 % of the respondents were indifferent. It can therefore be concluded from the analysis above majority of the respondent did not receive encouragement to study business studies. On analyzing the responses in Table 4.7 it was discovered that a total of 48.8% and 26.6% of the respondents strongly agreed and agreed that they need business studies to further their education. It was also discovered that 6.6% of the sampled population were indifferent to the question. And 6.6% of the respondents disagree that they dont need business studies to further their education. While 4.4% respondents were indifferent. 11.1% and 8.8% of the sampled population strongly disagreed and disagreed with the opinion that business studies is as important as other subject.

None of the respondent was indifference. 4.4% disagree with the assertion that business studies teachers give comprehensive note. 6.6% strongly disagree. From the summary of the analysis in Table 4.9, 60% and 20% strongly agreed and agreed that they like taking down business studies notes as given by the teacher. 4.4% were indifferent and 6.6% of the respondents disagree. The sampled opinion in Table 4.10 in response to nine in the research instrument indicates that 62.2% and 17.7% of the respondents strongly agreed and agreed that they always do their business studies assignments and 15.5% think otherwise by strongly disagreeing, while 4.4 % of the respondents disagree. While 8.8% respondents were indifferent and 11.1%of the respondents strongly disagree and 6.6% of the respondents disagree. While 8.8% of the respondents were indifferent and 8.8% believes that business studies does not broadens their knowledge therefore they strongly disagree.. Another 8.8% of the respondents also disagree.

While 31.1% of the respondents agreed Based on this analysis, it shows that all the the respondent are of the opinion that there is business studies teacher in their schools. It was also discovered that 6.6% of the sampled population were indifferent to the question. And 6.6% of the respondents disagree that they have a business studies typing pool in their school. While 8.8% respondents strongly disagree with the question. Based on the above analysis it can be concluded that most respondent believe agree to the assertion that they have business studies typing pool in their school. From the summary of the analysis in Table 4.16, 60% and 20% strongly agreed and agreed that typing is not difficult. 4.4% were indifferent and 6.6% of the respondents disagree. While 4.4% did not strongly disagree.

None of the population were indifferent as they all expressed varied opinions, 11.1% of the populations are of the view that there is e-learning in their school and 8.8% strongly agrees with the notion there is e-learning in their school.

From the summary of the analysis in Table 4.18, 60% and 20% strongly agreed and agreed that they do well in business studies because they put plenty of effort. 4.4% were indifferent and 6.6% of the respondents disagree. While 4.4% did not strongly disagree. It can therefore be concluded from the analysis above majority of the respondent did well in the subject because they put plenty of effort. Table 4.19 shows that majority of the respondent agreed that they are familiar with basic computer skills, with 55.5 % strongly agreeing to the question and 13.3% agree to the question. While, 11.1 % were in indifference. In contrast, 11.1% respondents disagree and 4.4% strongly disagree. From the sample analysis above, respondents majority of the responses making up over 50% believe that they are familiar with basic computer skills.
