AN AUTOBIO PRESENTATION

Dr. Romeu was born in Havana, Cuba on June 30th, 1955. Hes the son of of Eduardo Rafael Romeu and Enna Almeida. Dr. Romeus father, Eduardo Romeu was a Certified Public Accountant and held executive positions in world renowned companies. Dr. Romeus mother, Enna Almeida is an accomplished Dentist who developed cross country practices in Cuba, Chicago and in Miami.

In the winter of 1960, shortly after the triumph of the Castro Regime over the government of Batista, the entire family emigrated to Chicago, Illinois; in search of opportunities, free from political subjugation and oppression.
Dr. Romeus father revalidated his accounting certificates in the US and became the comptroller for Sarah Lee Industries in Deerfield, Illinois. Enna followed suit by revalidating her doctorate in Dentistry and established a successful dental practice.

The family relocated to Evanston, Illinois near the Northwestern University campus, and both children (Dr. Romeu and his sister Maria) attended the best schools in the area.
Dr. Romeu is a graduate of Loyola Academy in Willmette, Illinois; and has studied at Loyola University in Chicago and the Rome Italy Campus. As a teenager he also traveled worldwide and studied Vedic Literature under the guidance of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada.

Hugo Romeu, M.D. completed his medical education at Ross University and went on to post graduate level studies at State University of New York. His formal training includes completion of Residency Programs in SUNY, St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee and finally Cook County Hospital in Chicago.

After completion of his formal education Dr. Romeu joined the U.S. Army and served at 5th General Hospital in BadCanstatt, Germany. Upon his return to the U.S. he has held a wide array of positions from Medical Examiner, Chief Pathologist in several hospitals, to Clinical Director of Laboratories and Research Facilities.

AN AUTOBIO PRESENTATION
In 1995 he opened Romeu Pathology and Romeu Clinical Enterprises, which has grown into a diversified medical model; with primary health care, research and education divisions. This Certified Community Health Center serves a critical need area in the heart of Miami.
His most recent accomplishment is the acquisition of one of the largest phase one Clinical Research facilities in the world from Pracs Institute, called Phase One Solutions. At this facility, frontline pharmaceutical research is currently being conducted.

Dr. Romeu is happily married to former model Francis Romeu who he met during his stay in Germany as a young physician. They have two daughters, Sheela and Camille, and one daughter from a previous marriage, Nicole.
