PARIL Municipal Agriculturist Dear Mayor Diestro: One of the core areas of the Republic Act 10068 also known as the Organic Agriculture Act, is the continuous implementation of organic agriculture programs, projects and activities including the provision and delivery of support services with focus on the farmers and other stakeholders. Simultaneous capability building for Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and farmers are being undertaken to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of the program all over the country. The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) Region IV A of the Department of Agriculture is also advocating and helping the government to promote organic agriculture in the region. In this regard the ATI will conduct Training of Trainers on Farmer Field School for Facilitators on Organic Agriculture. The general aim of this training course is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the participants on the conduct of FFS on OA. After the training the participants are expected to conduct Farmer Field School on Organic Agriculture for 16 consecutive weeks in their respective municipality. The target participants are 32 organic agriculture focal persons and alternate focal persons (Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs)) of various municipalities in Laguna and Quezon Provinces. In view of this, may we invite your focal person, Mr. Lemuel O. Azogue and his alternate focal person to attend the said training on September 10-14, 2012 at Makiling Highlands Resort, Calamba City.
