RESEARCH INTERESTS You should always specify a field of interest even if you have not worked much on it, but would like to do so. But be sure whatever you write, you do have some amount of knowledge on it. There are large numbers of fields such as
High Performance Computing, Software Engineering, Computer Vision, Design of Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Natural Language processing, Data Mining, Computer Architecture. There are some fields such as Image Processing, Data Mining which are hot research topics but it is also the case that significant amount of work has been done on them and you need to work a little harder. Some fields such as Computer Architecture, Algorithms are very well established and scope of new work is very limited. But some fields such as Software Engineering, Computer Vision, High Performance Computing, Artificial Intelligence are both hot topics and have greater scope to do something new. Fields such as Robotics are highly specialized and you should cite them only if you have major interest in them.

ACADEMIC PROJECT
This section is to contain any research project that you may be working on. And you should be very clear about one thing and that is having some sort of academic project is in a way essential for getting an intern abroad. Moreover it increases your chances significantly of getting an MS offer. The best time to start is in 2nd year of your under graduation. If you do not have a research project even then nothing is lost, at the time you apply you can choose a certain topic and write it down as your project and before your internship commences you can do some work on it.

INTERNSHIPS
If you have done an internship before then it is obviously good for you, if it is an academic internship then dont reference it in the projects but reference it separately as an internship, and if it was an industry intern then you will have to reference here only. Give a point wise description of what work you did there.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Programming Languages: C/C++, Java, MATLAB, HTML, Assembly Language Programming for Intel 8085/8086 machines. Software : Netbeans, Visual Studio, Eclipse, Photoshop, Operating Systems : Windows XP/Vista/7, Linux It is advisable not to list down something which you have not worked on.
