July 2012 Dear Friend, Greetings to you on this beautiful summer day from everyone at the Full Gospel Lighthouse Church in Torrington, CT. No matter what you are facing today Jesus said, ...look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh (Luke 21:28). For every believer the Bible teaches us that what is ahead of us is far greater than what is behind us! Our future in Christ Jesus is brighter than the best days weve ever experienced here on earth. Did you know that the Lord has prepared a place for each of us? Did you know that if we give Him our lives and allow His Spirit to work things out in us that goodness and mercy shall follow us all the days of our lives? The Scripture says, But as it written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him (I Corinthians 2:9). We are headed for a place with Jesus where there is no sickness or pain, no more curse over the land, which means no more out of control weeds or over-population of destructive insects. The place God has prepared for us is one of perfect peace because the Prince of Peace shall be there to rule and reign over all! And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And He that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful (Revelation 21: 4 & 5). With these precious promises in mind, I can bring my life to the Lord Jesus every day and ask Him to transform me into His image. The things I do here on earth have meaning because His hand is ever guiding me. I have found that it isnt the things I go through that matter as much as how I handle them. We all have trials and temptations and situations that arent perfect. But He is preparing me for a perfect place so these things I go through are a part of that perfection process. It is my experience that if I grumble and complain and find fault with everyone and everything, I attract more problems to myself! But if I cast my burdens on the Lord and keep a positive attitude that all things will work

together for good (as the Scripture says). I actually attract His miracle-working power my way! There was a woman in Jesus day that did just that. She was a sinner that the Lord had been gracious to. She not only had been forgiven of her sins but He had raised her brother up from the dead! One day while He was a guest at a neighbors house this woman came in unannounced and took her alabaster box, full of very expensive spikenard and poured it on Jesus head. She washed His feet with tears and dried them with the hairs of her head. This loving, tender moment was interrupted by a person who complained that she was wasting that ointment. But Jesus spoke up and said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? She hath wrought a good work on me...She hath done what she could...Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this Gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her (Luke 14:6-9). She didnt make her mark in the world by doing some great and super important act that changed the course of nature. But then again, her service and love for the Lord actually did that! This act of love and kindness is to be told everywhere the Gospel is preached. She created an atmosphere of love and service and kindness that moved the heart of Jesus just before He went to Calvary to die for our sins. He was facing a situation of mockery, but she prepared His body with honor. He was about to be hanged in shame for our sins but she prepared His body for the sweetness of glory. He would soon be judged and condemned for crimes He didnt commit, but she prepared His body with thankfulness and acceptance and heart-felt tears. He would be bloodied and beat because of false accusations, but her tender love and the washing of His feet is to serve as a reminder that we are to do the same type of service for others. Millions have benefited from this single act of love. We are headed for a place prepared for us by the Lord Jesus and that place will have all these qualities she expressed that day. Being a Christ-like servant has its own rewards. I hope this message encouraged you and helped you in your walk with Him to be the person He desires you to be. I invite you to our church, which is located at 624 Torringford West Street in Torrington, CT. Our schedule of services is Sunday at 10 AM and 7 PM, and Wednesday at 7:30 PM.
