A vision to bring a solid change in the poor slums of Hyderabad These are the laborer kidsHere they are getting education.. These are primary clinics working in poor slums and rendering yeoman services to the poor patients This is the training institute for deaf, dumb and blind people. And these are microfinance institutes, providing easy interest-free loans to the needy. These and many other institutions are working in Hyderabad under the aegis of Arrahma foundation laying the solid foundations for a silent revolution on the social landscape of the city. Hyderabad, the historical south Indian City, is represented by Charminar and Cyber Towers; Charminar signifying a magnificent past enriched by splendid cultural traditions and Cyber Towers symbolizing a glorious future with boundless growth potentials. But amid these splendors of past and future, people tend to ignore the howling and screaming present that is spread over the 200 600 slums of Hyderabad. The target of Arrahma Foundation is these slums and the humanity that is being humiliated there. Getting inspired by the cultural traditions of Charminar and Mecca Masjid abd utilising the wealth created at Cyber Towers; Arrahma wants to bring smiles in the slums of Hafiz Baba Nagar and Rasool Pura. That is the mission of Arrahma. Lacking basic human needs like food, shelter, education and hygiene, these slums pose a challenge to people believing in Islam. Those who associate themselves with a prophet whose main identity was that of the protector and benefactor of poor, orphans, widows and deprived; can never remain mute and blind to this situation. This is the demand of Islam, Islamic dawah and witness that we come forward to change these conditions. Arrahmah dreams to bring this positive change in these slums through education, healthcare, awakening, guidance and poverty alleviation. To realize this dream, many local institutions are actively involved in partnership with Arrahmah. Education

On the Education front, Arrahma is partner with seven educational societies, a training centre for disabled, a society for guidance and support and one womens society, an Educational and Career Guidance Cell, Mamoora Trust and Farabi Hostels. Nashta Schools is an important project of Ar-rahmas partner organizations. In the early morning hours, the laborer kids and young adults are gathered and they are provided education along with healthy and nutritious breakfast. Later, they pass the 10th class examination. When a child laborer gets education, not only future is secured for his coming generation, but his whole family also is set on the path of a positive social change. There are six Nastha Schools working for bringing this silent revolution. And we aim at initiating this project in 25 slums in next four years. Ideal Information Centre for Disabled is the training centre for deaf, dumb and blind people. Disabled people are associated with it in different capacities and a new hope is being ignited in the lives of these disabled and deprived people. Umumat Society works for the counseling and guidance of women related to their social, family related, professional, psychological and other problems. Apart, under the aegis of Arrhma are working 31 book banks and libraries, One Guidance and Counseling Centre, two hostels and 47 part time schools and coacing centers. An important activity of Arrahma on education front, is the financial support to the needy students. Last year 7790 students got the assistance under the KifalatKafalat-e-Yatama and Support to Masakeen Schemese, 8414 8685 students got the support for fee payments while 12500 students were provided help for books uniform and stationary. Health Care On the health front, 2 primary health centres, two mobile health check up and one mobile dispensary are working under Arrahma. Apart, Arrahmas partner organizations, regularly arrange health awareness programmes, check-up camps, circumcision camps etc. More than 30,000 people are benefited annually through different health related activities of Arrahmas partner organizations. Finance and Employment

One important objective of Arrahma is to make poor and deprived families self reliant and help them standing on their own feet. To achieve this, Arrahma is implementing many innovative projects through its partner institutions. There are 13 12 Islamic Welfare Societies working in the city. These societies provide interest free loans to the needy. Around 6000 people get loans from them annually. Microfinance Microbusiness loan providing institutions are working at 16 17 places in the city. They provide interest free loans and necessary guidance and support to the poor families for generating proper employment. At 16 18 place, tailoring centres are working in addition to 12 carchobe and mehndi designing centers. Needy women are imparted tailoring training and they are also provided with the income generating tailoring jobs. More than 1500 4000 women are getting benefitted through these projects. There are two small scale industry related, training and production centres. Women are trained in skills like candle making and agarbatti (Incense stick) making. They are also helped in securing durable employment in these areas. Arrahma has provided through its partner organizations, financial support to around 650 individuals for securing employment. 250 486 widows get regular pensions and around 300 325 families get help in constructing or repairing the houses. Apart from this assistance to prisoners, help for marriage, distribution of zakath and sadaqath,distribution of garments, support to prisoners etc. are among the permanent schemes of Ar rahma. Alkhair Societies is a solid working approach to implement the vision and dreams of Arrahma. Under this approach, in selected slum areas, centres are established with the involvement of people from the respective localities. And in this centre, under one roof, all services related to education, health, poverty alleviation etc. are rendered. So these centres work as one stop solution for the poor. Golkondas a Alkhair Society is known for its long and multifaceted services in the walled locality. In the last few years, the Alkhair Societies of Jhirra, Hakeempeth, Borabanda and Kunda hafiz babanagar have also paved the ways for a positive change in their respective localities. In the next few years, InshaAllah 25 poor localities will get such centres. Each Centre will also focus on the specific requirements of the respective locality.

Ar-Rahma Foundation is not the name of just another social service initiative. But it is the name of a dream and a vision for a positive change. It does not aim at just distributing the charity amounts among the poor, but its main approach is to utilize the charity amounts for making the poor stand on their own feet. The aim is to make an end to the reliance of their families on any external support. And Arrhama is tracing the path, step by step, toward the realization of this dream. All the office bearers of Arrahma are educated individuals with long and flawless records of social services. Scientific studies and surveys, planning based on their outcome, and implementation of plans through trained and honest volunteers employing the modern meansThis is alrahmas methodology.
