Word processer

Theory
When we open our computer and go towards start button and in programs we find there Microsoft office inside it we find Microsoft word 2003/2007. Microsoft word for IBM pc and XT computers has been most compherinsive word processing programs currently available in the market. It is easy to learn and use and is full of function which can perform all kinds of word processing jobs. The product runs on all versions of PC DOS, MS-DOS, with a minimum memory requirement of 256 kb. Microsoft Word, or Word as it is commonly known, is a software application that allows us (the user) to perform word processing. Microsoft word 2007 is seen like this:-

Topmost is the menu bar or office button. It contains new, open, save, save as, print, prepare, send and close buttons. From this tab we can do following things:1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Create a new file. Save current file. Open old files. Print files. Prepare files. Publish files. Close file.

Below it is tool bar. It contains home, insert, page layout, references, mailings, review and view tabs. From this tab we can do following things:1. Change font, bold, change size, highlight, italic, underline, strike, bullet, change style, replace, find, copy & paste word, letters and paragraph. 2. Insert cover page, blank page, page break, table, picture, clip art, shapes, smart art, chart, hyperlink, bookmark, cross reference, header, footer, page number, text box, quick parts, WordArt, Drop Cap, equation and symbol. 3. Choose themes, colors, fonts, effects, margins, orientations, size, columns, breaks, line numbers, hyphenation, watermark, color page, take borders, indent, spacing, align, etc. 4. Add table, update, table, insert end note, insert foot note, next footnote, show notes, insert citation, style, bibliography, insert caption, insert table of figures, update table, cross reference, index and insert table of authors. 5. Create mail, start mail merge, write and insert fields, preview results and finish mailing. 6. Proof things, write comments, tracking, changes, compare and protect. 7. View document, show and hide ruler, document map, gridlines, thumbnails and massage bar, zoom, window and macros.

In left side there is scroll bar which includes page up, page down and select bourse object. From this tab we can do following things:1. 2. 3. 4. View ruler. Scroll pages up and down. Go to pervious page and next page. Select browse object.

Lab work/practical
I did following things in the lab respectively: First I entered into lab and went to our respective seats. Then I opened our computer then went to start button. Then I opened all program and to Microsoft office and finally to Microsoft word. Then a program opened which was named document - Microsoft word. Then I saw menu bar, tool bar and scroll bar. Sir gave us instructions about the menu, tool and scroll bar. Then sir instructed us to write something and I wrote that, A quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog. Sir focused us on tool bar and a box named Font. Sir told us to make the sentence following things:1. (A quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog.)(bold) 2. (A quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog.)(italic) 3. (A quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog.)(underline) 4. (A quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog.)(highlight) 5. (A quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog.)(color font) 6.

(A quick brown fox jumped over a lazy dog.)( increase or decrease size of font)

I saved my words written as aawaz. Then our time finished and we shut off our computer after getting some instruction we moved out from our lab.

Conclusion
Microsoft Word, or Word as it is commonly known, is a software application that allows us (the user) to perform word processing. With Microsoft word/word we can do anything associating with word and word processer. We can increase, decrease, change, bold, Italy, underline, strike through, highlight, color, etc to our font. From these menu bars, tool bar and scroll bar we can do everything we need.
