Project Title : Integrated Data Warehouse for Life Insurance Client : AMP, Australia Duration : Jun`08 to till date Role : ETL Developer. Environment : DataStage 7.5 PX, Oracle9i, UNIX, Mercury Quality Center, CITRIX

Description:
AMP is a leading wealth management company with more than 3.4 million customers and 3,500 employees in Australia and New Zealand. One in six Australians is an AMP customer. They offer a wide range of financial products and services including retirement savings and income investments, superannuation, financial planning, insurance and banking. The project involves building of Data Warehouse for Life Insurance that gives a clear picture of the Insurance segment in order to take effective decisions and build good Customer Relationship to give them intelligent information regarding its current business situation and thus help it to understand the trends and performance and customer analysis of the Organization. The source data includes types of policies, Information about policy holder, policy covered item details, premium payment details and types of claims. This data warehouse allows the Management for effective decision-making and to transform product centric approach to customer centric approach to gain competitive advantage.

Responsibilities:
Understanding the requirements specifications. Perform Data Acquisition by extracting data from various sources like relational databases, flat files, etc transform the data and load into data warehouse. Parameterize the jobs as required. Loading the transformed data into dimensions and facts as per the LLD. Handling of redundant records using remove duplicate stage. Developed various jobs using Dataset, Funnel, Aggregator, Sequential file, Lookup, Remove Duplicate, Transformer stages and Modify stage. Used DataStage Designer tools for creating reusable transformations using containers, job sequencer. Worked with DataStage Manager for importing and exporting metadata from repository. Created new job categories and data elements. Designed Sequencer to automate the whole process of data loading. Analyzing the sources, target, transform the data, map the data and load the data into targets using DataStage. Tuned Data stage transformations and jobs to enhance their performance .

Retail Business Intelligence System deals with the products and sales for TESCO Retail Data Mart. The purpose of Data Warehouse is designed for Sales Analysis. The source data is extracted and cleansing the data using ETL operations. Data populated in to Facts and Dimensions using DataStage. This Data Mart contains more than 200 product types and also their competitors. The system allows marketing and sales users to maintain targets for various Products. The main objective of the project is to help the senior and middle level management of the organization to improve the sales and get knowledge of the new business opportunities.

Understanding the requirements specifications. Data Stage jobs is created to extract, transform and load data from various sources like relational databases, flat files, etc into data warehouse. Handling of redundant records using remove duplicate stage. Developed various jobs using Dataset, Funnel, Aggregator, Sequential file, Sort, Remove Duplicate, Transformer stages. Used DataStage Designer tools for creating containers, job sequencer. Working with DataStage Manager for importing metadata from repository. Description:
This project involved in the development of Data warehouse for BMO based on four kinds of Data Marts, such as Accounts, Loans, Credit cards and Insurance. Each data mart represents a collection of data

pertaining to a single business process. BMO involved in disbursal of loan amounts for various purposes like: Personal Loan, Educational Loan, Vehicle Loan, Housing Loan and Consumer Durable Loans. The Company requires different level of analysis regarding loan amount, type of loans, type of customers, type of payment schedules, interest rates (variable or fixed), defaulters list and the penal interest calculations etc, The Data warehouse (basically it is a Data Mart as it covers only one domain the business) captures data from their Transactional Database maintained under Client/Server Architecture.

Responsibilities:
Understanding the requirements specifications Created DataStage jobs to extract, transform and load data from various sources like relational databases, flat files, etc into data warehouse. Created hash files for faster table look-ups. Used the transformer stage to cleanse the input data, and to route into different targets. Improved performance using Hash files, link partitioner and link collector. Extensively used Pivot, Sort, Merge, and Aggregator in developing jobs. Used DataStage Designer tools for creating containers, job sequencer. Working with DataStage Manager for importing metadata from repository, new job categories & creating new data elements. Designed Sequencer to automate the whole process of data loading .
