Haddington and District ASC Weekly News Week beginning 13th August 2012

Minnows Training Day: - Sixteen Minnows took part in todays (Tuesday 14th ) mini training day at Prestonpans. Between the two sessions in the pool the swimmers watched themselves on a video, and set goals for the coming season. They also did some land training and completed a swimming quiz and training questionnaire. The training day should give them a great start to the autumn term and I hoped they all enjoyed it. My thanks to the coaching team of Senga, Mike, Tarquin and Kathryn for helping to make the training day so successful. Competition Calendar: - The up to date competition list will be on the notice board this week as well as on the website and on drop box. Please make a note of the two Club Championship dates which are important for every swimmer in the club. Committee vacancy: - The AGM for the club is coming up in September and we are looking for a new President to head up the committee team. If you would like to get involved with the organisation of the club then please have a chat with one of the present committee members to find out more Haddington Triathlon: - This years Haddington triathlon will be run on Sunday 9 th September. It is being organised by Katie Archibald one of our swimmers. We have been asked if the swimming club could help by supplying volunteers to count lengths/time the swimming or marshal etc. I will put a notice on the board for volunteers to sign up so that I can pass a list directly to Katie nearer the time. The competition starts at 9am (tbc) with the swimming part first so there will be no training that morning. Minnows Squad: - last Friday we welcomed Morven Stewart to the Minnows
