COURSEWORK FOR BASIC MATHEMATHICS STRATEGIC PROBLEM SOLVING

1. Do reading on the following: a) Non-routine problems b) Strategies in problem solving

2. Write a summary based on your reading in a suitable graphic forms

3. Discuss the problems given in attachements 1. Choose and name the most appropriate strategy to solve each problem. Describe your solution using the four basics principles of problem solving / heuristics of polyas model.

4. Write a paraghraph of individual reflection after completion all the tasks given.

REFLECTION

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. I Ahmadi Abidin Bin Muhammad from PPISMP BM/PJ/KS Semester Two had been assigned to do an individual reflection based on assignment for the subject Basic

Mathematics (Starategic Problem Solving). This task was assigned to me on 22 Mac 2010 with my team mates, Farid Hafizuddin, Ahmadi Abidin And Fauzan Izzat. With gods grace, I was able to complete this assignment on time and perfectly I beginned my task by finding all the informations that I need and I had planned what I was supposed do on the journey to complete this task. I had gathered all the informations that I need for this course work by surfing the internet, referring to the books in the library and from some ideas by my lecturer not forgettable my friend . During the journey of completing this course work I had learned and went through many new things. I have learnt the importance of Polyas Model in todays world and how by learning it can make a huge impact on a persons life. I also have realised that learning Mathematics is a fun process and beginned to love it. My lecturer, Pn.Razimah had helped me a lot and guided me towards the completion of this course work. On the other end, I had also received some assistance from my colleagues. With all the help and guidance that came to my aid, I had been able to accomplish my course work successfully. After were doing this task, we could understand what problem is solving with using polyas model. Apart from that, we could know can categorize problem solving into two basic that are routine and non- routine. By this way we could get information and gain knowledge about problem solving in our life.

Besides, after doing these tasks, we could be able to settle a lot of problem and easy to make a decision. Also we could solve various routine and non-routine problems using suitable problem solving strategies .In addition, we could study and analyse various difficulties in problem solving Finally, after accomplishing this course work I had realised that my Mathematics skills in daily life had increased tremendously. I was able use this polya model in my life to solve a mathematics problem. Last but not least, this task makes us realize that these elements, which are routine and non-routine problem solving is important in our daily life as we can implemented it in life and our daily usage. Thanks to all of you that help me out for this assignment.
