"You gotta admit, it takes some brass to attack a guy for doing what you just did.

" -President Bill Clinton, during his DNC speech, addressing Paul Ryans attempts to manipulate President Obamas record on Medicare. Dear Democrat: Weve got a guy that can hold a room for 45 minutes, theyve got a guy that talks to a chair. President Clinton last night electrified the nation as he formally re-nominated President Obama for a second term at the Democratic National Convention. In true Bill Clinton form, the former President broke it down. He called out Republican extremists for their visceral hatred of our President, and for their flat-out lies on the Presidents record. Bill Clinton articulated just how detrimental Republican policies would be for a U.S. economy that although has improved, has still not fully recovered from the fiscally stupid policies of the last Republican President. Its been a good week to be a Democrat. Michelle Obama, the mom-in chief inspired the country, as she spoke of President Obamas values and character. On Tuesday, we also got to showcase some of our Texas talent, and the future of the Democratic Party, as Mayor Castro became the first Latino to keynote the DNC. Julian and Joaquin Castro wowed the nation with their inspirational, allAmerican stories. But Julian and Joaquin werent the only Texans that impressed the nation. History was made at the DNC yet again last night, when San Antonio DREAMer Benita Veliz became the first DREAM Act student to ever address a political convention. Benita thanked President Obama for whats hes done for the immigrant community, and warned about what could happen if Mitt Romney became President. Tonight, Texas Democrats will watch in excitement as President Obama makes his case to the American people. The good thing is, the facts are on our side. What weve got:

A President who saved the auto industry A President who ended the war in Iraq A President who signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, ensuring women get equal pay for equal work A President who passed historic health care reform A President who ended dont ask, dont tell A President who supports the DREAM Act A President who strengthened Medicare Michelle Obama President Clinton Julian and Joaquin Castro An electorate that reflects the diversity of our nation

What theyve got:

A guy that talks to a chair

This Democratic National Convention is empowering, inspiring and reminds me why I am a Democrat. Let's use this convention as the energy boost we need to keep fighting to November. Like talk-show host Cristina Saralegui told the crowd upset about Republican proposals, Dont boo, vote! Yours, Gilberto Hinojosa Chair Texas Democratic Party
