System Engineer - Layer 1 Study Group (L1SG) member

Job Description: WCDMA system management specifies and ensures system evolution of WCDMA Standard, features, and performance. We work in all phases of development: technology outlook, through standardization, product development and performance in field. WCDMA System Management is a part of product development unit WCDMA. Job description We strategically drive and specify the evolution of WCDMA/HSPA technology in products and standards with a clear business focus, enabling the Mobile Broadband revolution. Now we need a competent system engineer with good knowledge of layer 1, digital signal processing and mathematics. Your mission will be to take part in the L1 Study Group (L1SG) work. There you will be contributing in concept studies, pre-pre studies and pre-studies in the area of base-band algorithms. We normally perform our work by pen-and-paper analysis or by means of link-level simulations. In your work you normally cooperate with skilled people in other departments of WCDMA System Management, Base-band Performance Group at RBS SW design, Ericsson Research and Product Management. You will be at the center of WCDMA development and you will have the opportunity to build an excellent contact network in the area. The job contains the following activities and responsibilities:

Development of base-band algorithms, primarily for uplink

Contribute to concept studies, pre-pre studies and pre-studies at WCDMA System Management

Pen-and-paper analysis

Link-level simulations and simulator development

MSc, PhD or equivalent competence Requested competence:

Excellent competence and interest in layer 1 and base-band algorithms

Excellent mathematical and digital signal processing knowledge

Experience of C/C++ and Matlab programming

Knowledge of WCDMA product desired

Knowledge of the 3GPP layer 1 standard

Self-motivated, flexible and well organized

Excellent communication skills

Excellent written and spoken English

Knowledge of system level simulations is a plus

An interest in and the ability to lead teams is a plus

Fordon Autosar, CAN/LIN/MOST, Matlab/Simulink

Telekom - Linux, TCP/IP, Routing protokoll Frsvar
