You should now have a LONG list of universities

Important: These schools should have been classified as Reach, Fit, or Star

The Short List

By September 3 you should have a preliminary short-list of 6-9 schools to which you are applying with a range of Reach, Fit and Star schools September 17 is the deadline for your final short-list on Naviance. These will be the schools you apply to. You will apply to no more than ten universities Note that UK universities will count as one choice, as will the University of California campuses

Remember to do a Reality Check?

You have to be realistic about your academic profile (High School Transcript, Predicted IB scores and your SAT scores) and choose schools that may accept you! If all/most of your schools are reach schools, well give you a reality check. Remember that star schools also are schools that you would really like to go to for 3-4 years and should not be a major disappointment. Star schools could increase your chances of earning an academic scholarship.

Year 13 Students (2012):

Year 13 Students (2012):

Year 13 Parents (2012)

Year 13 Students (2012) Advice:

Start writing the application essays early, do not cram them in the last week (of December) before the internal deadline at school.
Start your application essays early as many assignments will be due during the same time. (and perhaps also mocks) Don't put it off, but don't stress about it either. It's easier than you'd think. Just stay calm, it will all be okay.

This will help you tremendously
