She is a very modest, quiet person, very musical and is the daughter of a friend of Gillian Sr. Gillian Jr asks his friend Bryson how to spend the money. Bryson says $1000 can be a lot to some people and little to others and gives examples. Gillian Jr decides to buy a gold necklace for a famous actress he knows. Then he changes his mind. He asks a coachman what he would do with the money.(He would open a pub) He asks a blind man . . (The blind man shows him a savings book with almost $12,000 dollars in it.) Gillian Jr visits Miriam Haden. He tells her they have discovered an addition to the will. He says she has inherited $1000 and gives her the money. The lawyers tell him that the will says that if he has spent the money wisely, he will get $50,000 and if he has spent the money stupidly, as before he will get nothing and Miriam Haden will get $50,000.
