You will proceed through the steps described here to develop your plan, and at the end, pitch your plan to the Venture Capitalists in the room. The goal is to get as much seed money as possible to start your business. Step 1: Choose the roles each of you will take on for your business. a. Project Manager/Lead-This person will be responsible for ensuring the group is on task, make sure the group is meeting time lines, and take the lead on managing the content in the project and everyone is fulfilling their roles. This is the person who will turn in the project when it is done. b. Marketing-Responsible for the look and feel of the business plan, the business logo, color schemes, etc. d. Scientific consultant-Ensures that all of the science content is correct, responsible for creating the part of the presentation along with the engineer that explains the science in terms the audience will understand. Step 2: Research your project a. Go to your assigned Wiki and start to research your technology to learn about why your business plan is worth investing in. You need to ensure that you understand the technology enough to explain how it works in an easy to understand way for the audience. b. Completely answer the questions on the Wiki. 1. Explain the problem your product is solving and why it is important. 2. How does your product specifically work? 3. What are the pros and cons of your product? 4. Discuss some current companies or researchers involved in the development and marketing of this product/technology. c. Collect your citations using MLA format and put them on the Wiki page. d. Come up with an organization for your research so you can present it logically as your business plan. Step 3: Present your business plan a. Take the information from your Wiki and start to put it into your presentation tool. b. Ensure each team member has contributed their part in the presentation. c. Ensure that each person understands what they are going to say during the presentation. Each group member will be responsible for doing a part of the presentation according to their role.
