Kinds of Questions

Some questions ask for Yes or No answers. Yes/No questions often begin with Am, Is, or Are. A question ends with a question mark. Am I on time to play basketball? Yes. Is that your basketball? Word Order in Statements

When you talk about more than one friends person, place, or thing, you use nouns that end in -s or -es. I have many friends. My friends are in my classes. We carry our books in backpacks. If You Can Count It, You Can Make It Plural

If You Cant Count It, Maybe You Can Measure It

A Noun Can Show Who Owns Something

Put Articles in Their Place


When you talk about one person, place, or thing, use a, an, or the before the noun. Use a or an when you cant be specic. The class is doing a play. Marc wants to be an actor. Action verbs change to go with the subject of a sentence. Add -s to the verb if the subject is he, she, it, or a singular noun. Add -es if the verb ends in -s, -ch, -sh, -x, or -z. When to Use Have
