(B) Key event in this Movie 1. Cao cao take permission for war against Liu Bei. After permission Cao Cao go to war with Liu Bei. 2. In initial time battle between army of Cao Cao and Liu Bei, the main task of Liu Bei army to secure his people and evacuate his valley but Liu beis army retreated to fight later.

3. The formation of strategic alliance between Liu Bei and Suan Quan. 4. Distract by Xia Ciao to Cao Cao at the end of war.

(C)Purpose In this movie there are some motives which the war happens: 1. Cao cao point of you, this war is get to rid of Liu Bei. He had listen one thing that one thing alliance between Liu Bei and Sun Quan might take place. This gives a opportunity to Cao Cao to war with Liu Bei. 2. Cao Cao attraction towards Xiao Ciao wife of Xao Yu this is the second reason of war. 3. From Liu Bei Point of view this war is for peaceful empire getting rid of rid of Cao Cao. 4. One more thing Sun Quan want to achieve something in life and protect his country. (D) Effect on Strategic decision making process The key events had impact on strategic decision making process these effects are:

In Initial battle in the movie Liu Beis was main task to protect and evacuate his people. In this time Cao Cao is starting to war with Liu Bei. The strategist Kong Ming knew that they are outnumbered. He know the weakness in Liu Bei army. He plan to hide somewhere and prepare for long term fight with Cao Cao. Liu Bei plan to fight later and now save energy for future. The move in this movie also hints of today corporate world where priorities are set and strategy set according to situation. Losing battle in start but save energy to fight in future. Strategic alliance between Liu Bei and Sun Quan The alliance between Liu Bei and Suan Quan is relation of mind and men power. Xao yu is also a kind of alliance which it work a majorly in war. (E) Interaction among the people at these events Interaction among people at various events mentioned where the once defined the character of individual towards situation. Cao Cao comments when warned about the surrendering the general I trust anyone who is use to me its show that he seeks people as merely items to satisfy his goal. Kong Ming who taught with Suan Quan reminds him strength and overcome his criticism of being a weak ruler leader. Kong Ming talk with Xao Yu to suggest participate in this strategic war and also suggest strategies to war. Xao Yu addressed the generals of Lui Bei and reminded them how they can be strong if they are joining hands together no one push us from the circle. Xao Yu, Kong Ming and Gan Xings talk which emphasized on the development on the core competency rather than becoming a jack of all trades.

(F) Body Languages of key people Cao Cao: His body language shows that he feels proud of himself. He has already won many battles and hence is over confident in his decisions. He behaves as a winner. Xao Yu (Viceroy) : Xao Yus body language is of a calm and mature personality. He displays this even while making crucial decisions. He is brave yet not overconfident. His passion towards music. Kong Ming (Strategist): He gets anxious sometimes but he keeps his anxiety under check by fanning around. His body language matches with his ability and the knowledge. He changes his body language as per the situations. He understands the environment well. Xiao Qiao (Wife of Xiao Qiao): She is a simple lady who does not like wars. She is a pleasing personality and beautiful. In Cao Caos camp, she was confident and generous. Sun Quan( Lord, South Land): Sun Quan is young, aggressive and a risk taker. But he lacks experience. To achieve big in life, risks have to be taken. He followed this saying in this movie. Shangxiang( Sister of Sun Quan): She is a fearless and confident lady. Therefore she was able to get mixed in the army of Cao Cao. (G) Strategic Implications In this movie, there are various incidents when strategy has been made and applied. Both the parties applied strategies but it was Liu Bie and Sun army which show in the first half of the movie. 1. In the initial stage of fight between of Liu Bie and Cao Caos forces, Liu Bies forces were beat by Cao Caos forces. Hence, Liu Bies army was retreated. The strategic implication was that they succeeded in completing their original task of protecting its people. Secondly, they saved their energy and power and from huge losses to fight with Cao Cao in future. 2. The alliance of Liu Bie and Sun Quan created a synergy effect. Both used each others strengths. Sun was able to save his southland while Liu Bie neutralized Cao Cao. This alliance led both of them to meet their objectives. 3. When Cao Cao was moving through waters towards Redcliff, his small army was engaged in battle with Liu Bies forces. Cao Caos strategy was to get the

idea of the strength and preparedness of enemy. He came to know that the enemy was studying the environment well and prepared for them. Hence he avoided making hurry. 4. Strategy of joining the ships by Cao Cao proved to be beneficial in the beginning for his soldiers, but proved drastic in the final battle. 5. Kongmings ability to sense environmental changes led to the development of successful strategies for Liu Bies forces. 6. Strategy of Liu Bies fake defection and their arrival at final battle worked for them. They made a surprise attack in the final battle which led to their success. 7. Information about the enemy led to the success of Liu and Suns alliance in the battle. This shows the importance of the right information at right time. It helps in making strategies which can fulfil the objectives. 8. Xiao Qiaos strategy of delaying the move of Cao Cao from his camp in the final battle proved fruitful. She was serves tea Cao Cao. She was preparing the right ground for the implementation of the new strategy for Liu Bie forces. (H) Causal connection between an event and subsequent events One of such an event in the movie is when Kongming goes to Xau Yu to seek alliance and they dont talk but only answer each other through music. (I) How do the characteristics of the key people and the organization affect the key events? All the key events mentioned above, have been affected by the characteristics of the key people and the organization. In the above case, there are various incidents when the characteristics of key people have made the events successful. For example, it was Kongmings characteristics due to which he was able to convince Sun Quan for the alliance. Xao Yu (viceroy) has leadership qualities and is a motivator. A leader should be a motivator, influencer, ability to think, risk taker and a decision maker. The generals of Liu Bies army are loyal to him. They are the pillars for his organization. It is their commitment towards Liu Bie which has made the organization to face Cao Cao for a long time despite having small army.

Conclusion Redcliff movie is a must watch movie for management students in which strategies are being formed and implemented. This movie has various characters who play different role through the battle. The movie gives a message of using right strategies at right time. Strategies of war have relevance in the corporate battle.
