REQUIREMENTS 1. 2. 3. Each Local Chapter has the prerogative to choose a maximum of three contestants competing individually for each quiz. Each representative may opt to join a maximum of three quiz bees. Each Local Chapter must comply with the following requirements in SOFT COPY only: a. Duly accomplished application form. b. Endorsement Letter signed by the Local Chapter Vice President for Academics and Local Chapter President, noted by their Adviser. (PDF File) c. Scanned copy of registration form in his respective school certifying that he is currently enrolled in their schools current semester. All requirements must be sent to r02vpacads@yahoo.com on or before September 15, 2012. The final and official list of participants will be released on September 16, 2012 on the official Facebook account of NFJPIA Region 02 Council (www.facebook.com/nfjpia02). Walk-in contestants shall not be allowed to join the competition.

CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (GENERAL) 1. 2. 3. Questionnaire Distributors (QDs) shall be composed of the NFJPIA Region 02 Council Executive Officers and Standing Committees. The Board of Judges shall be composed of Certified Public Accountants for the purpose of giving an intelligent and independent decision. Any member of the Board of Judges and Questionnaire Distributors shall be vested with the power to give sanction to any contestant he/she has witnessed violating any of the said provisions in this Implementing Rules & Regulations. The violation called by any of the Questionnaire Distributors, to be valid and effective, must be subject for approval of majority vote of the Board of Judges. But if one of the members of the Board of Judges calls the violation, it is deemed as valid and effective. In case there is a violation called by the authority, announcement of such should be addressed after announcing the contestants who got the correct answer. The Board of Judges shall have the sole and exclusive authority to clear or answer any protest/clarification made by the contestant or respective coach. The Board of Judges decision is final and irrevocable. The Local Chapter is privileged to have one (1) registered coach only per competition. The coach must register and sign in the provided registration sheet by the Standing Committee for Academics during the registration on the first day of the MYC 2012 or before the start of

competition. Once the quizmaster starts reading the first question in the easy sub-set round, the registration for Local Chapter coach will be closed. Thus, any concern, protest, or clarification made by an unregistered coach will not be entertained by the Board of Judges. The contestant and his registered coach are the only persons who have vested rights to raise protest and clarification. Each participant is only allowed to compete in a maximum of three quiz bowls. Each participant must be in smart casual attire. Participants who shall violate this guideline shall be disqualified. Before proceeding to the next question, there will be an allotted time of five seconds for the contestants to decide whether they want to raise a protest/clarification, to request for new marker, pen or scratch paper, to change their calculator if it encounters a technical problem, or other concerns. After the allotted time has elapsed and the quizmaster starts reading the next question, no more protest, clarification, or concern will be entertained. Any contestant caught cheating is considered disqualified in the competition. All theory questions and problems requiring computation will be read once. After reading the contest rules and mechanics, contestants are given the chance to raise question/clarification regarding the said rules and mechanics. These general contest rules and mechanics are applicable for both elimination and final round. In case of any concern, clarification, or protest which is not governed by the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), the Regional Vice President for Academics shall have the absolute power to decide, upon consultation to the Board of Judges and/or the Regional Adviser, on matters which he deems necessary to preserve and protect the integrity of the event. His decision is final and irrevocable.
CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (Elimination Round) 1. These contest rules and mechanics shall govern the conduct of CAT CUP Series, SGV Cup 2012, Meet the Standards, Partnership and Corporation Accounting Quiz and Finance and Economics Quiz. 2. The Elimination Round is divided into three levels Easy, Average, and Difficult. 3. Corresponding points, time allotment, and number of questions are as follows:
4. Contestants are advised to be at the designated place fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled time of the competition. A contestant is considered late when he is not present in his designated seat when the quizmaster starts reading the 1st question in the easy sub-set round. Late contestant/s shall be deducted fifteen (15) points from their total score garnered during the quiz bee. 5. Contestants are provided with a copy of the question for every item. The moment the quizmaster announces the question number that would be the only time the contestant may read and answer the provided question. Any contestant who violates the said provision for the second time shall be given sanction of ten-point-deduction from his total score. Violation of this provision for the third time shall mean a deduction of fifteen (15) points from the total score. Violation of this provision for the fourth time shall mean disqualification of the contestant. 6. The contestants are allowed to manipulate their calculator only when the quizmaster says GO! Any contestant who violates the said provision for the second time shall be given sanction of ten-point-deduction from his total score. Violation of this provision for the third time shall mean a deduction of fifteen (15) points from the total score. Violation of this provision for the fourth time shall mean disqualification of the contestant. 7. The contestants should have written their answers before the time allotted has elapsed. They must raise their answer boards once the quizmaster declares so. Any contestant who fails to comply will receive a warning and his answer may be forfeited depending upon the decision of the Board of Judges. 8. The Elimination Round will determine the TOP 10 contestants who shall advance to the Final Round. In case of a tie in the ranking of TOP 10, clincher question shall be given until the deadlock is broken. CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (Final Round) 1. These contest rules and mechanics shall govern the conduct of CAT CUP Series, Meet the Standards, Partnership and Corporation Accounting Quiz and Finance and Economics Quiz. 2. All points accumulated during the Elimination Round shall revert to zero.

5. For a contestant who gave an incorrect answer, there will be a corresponding point deduction depending upon the nature of the question as stated in CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (Final Round) NO. 4. Negative points shall be rewarded to the participant who has gained no score and provided a wrong answer. 6. The contestants are allowed to manipulate their calculator at any moment they opted to, provided, only when the quizmaster starts to read the first word in the problem. 7. The contestant may answer the question at any moment even if the quizmaster is still on the course of reading the question. Provided that before he presses the buzzer, his answer must be reduced to writing. Otherwise, his answer is deemed null and void. 8. The contestant who will press the buzzer first will get the chance to answer. This round provides one chance of steal. The first contestant who answers the question correctly will earn the corresponding points for that question. In case of a steal, an incorrect answer and/or void answer will have a corresponding point deduction depending upon the nature of the question as stated in CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (Final Round) NO. 4. 9. In order to win the game, participants must reach the top of the NFJPIA Pyramid. The first, second and third contestant who reached the TOP of the Pyramid will be declared the CHAMPION, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up, respectively. 10. In the event that no one reaches the top of the NFJPIA Pyramid at the end of the game, the accumulated scores shall be the basis in determining the winners. In case of a tie, a clincher question shall be asked until the deadlock is broken.
CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (Final Round) 1. These contest rules and mechanics shall govern the conduct of SGV CUP 2012. 2. All points accumulated during the Elimination Round shall revert to zero. 3. 4. Each item is named after the different industries where SGV & Co. provides their services. The questions are randomly assigned to each of the different industries. The industries are as follows:

6. The privilege to choose the first question is given to the quizmaster. The contestant who will answer the first question correctly shall have the right to choose the next question, and so on. Before reading the next question, the contestant who answered the last question correctly must choose a space on the service board where a mark will be placed. In case no contestant got the correct answer on a particular question, an X mark will be placed and will serve as a roadblock. Therefore, the space may no longer be used for creating a pattern. 7. For a contestant who gave an incorrect answer, there will be a corresponding point deduction depending upon the nature of the question as stated in CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (Final Round) NO. 3. In this round, there will be three diamonds which are hidden and each are randomly assigned to the different items shown above. The diamond will
serve as a bonus of 3 points. This bonus is exclusive for the contestant who picked the item and answered it correctly. At the same time, this diamond will serve as a special power by assigning a mark on the service board where other contestant already occupied the space or even on the space marked with an X. The contestant may opt to utilize right away or reserve the diamond on future questions as long as that contestant arrives at the correct answer. 12. The following patterns will determine the winners. The first, second, third, fourth and fifth participants who will create any of the patterns will be declared CHAMPION, 1st Runner Up, 2nd Runner Up, 3rd Runner Up and 4th Runner Up, respectively.
13. In the event that no one creates a winning pattern at the end of the game, accumulated scores shall be the basis in determining the winners. In case of a tie, a clincher question shall be asked until the deadlock is broken.

CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (ELIMINATION ROUND) 1. Participants are required to dress appropriately while participating in the competition. 2. All the case materials will be provided such as the case scenario. Participants are not allowed to bring their own materials except for calculators, laptops (without internet connection), dictionary and one reference book. 3. The case analysis must be typed using double-spacing; no hand written material of any sort will be accepted. All reports must be written in

Century Gothic, 12pt. font size. A margin of at least 2.54 cm (1 inch) must surround the text. Use short bond paper. All case reports shall present the following: I. Time Context II. Point of View III. Main Problem IV. Secondary Problems V. Objective VI. Areas of Consideration (SWOT Analysis) VII. Alternative Courses of Action VIII. Decision Criteria IX. Recommendations The case report must attach a title page, which includes the name of the institution and the names of the team members. All reports (in PDF file ONLY) must be saved in a flash disk that contains no other files other than the case report. The following criteria shall be used to evaluate the case study: Skill demonstrated in conceptualizing and analyzing the case Use of pertinent literature and best practices Overall quality of case report TOTAL 30% 30% 40% 100%
8. Only five teams among all the participating teams will proceed to the final round. CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (FINAL ROUND) 1. In order to determine the TOP 3, the participants will present their report for 10 minutes and there will be 15 minutes for the question and answer portion. 2. The following criteria shall be used to evaluate the case study: Skill demonstrated in conceptualizing and analyzing the case Use of pertinent literature and best practices Ability to defend a particular decision or strategy Overall quality of presentation TOTAL 15% 15% 30% 40% 100%

CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (General) 1. The 1st JPIA Officers Pasiklaban is divided into two rounds namely Talent Competition and Wits Competition. 2. The TOP 4 performers in the Talent Competition round shall advance to the Wits Competition round. 3. The Talent Competition round shall be done on the first night of the Convention. The Wits Competition round, on the other hand, shall be done on the second night.

4. The criteria for Talent Competition round shall be provided by the Regional Vice President for Non-Academics. CONTEST RULES AND MECHANICS (Final Round Wits Competition Round) 1. 2. 3. 4. The final round shall be a buzzer-type round. Contestants shall be given 30 seconds for each question. This round shall be a single elimination. The diagram below will provide the match up:

5. The team who gets two correct answers in the first match up shall win the first match up. 6. The team who gets two correct answers in the second match up shall win the second match up. 7. The first team who gets five correct answers in the final match up shall win the final match up and will be declared CHAMPION. The team defeated by the champion shall be declared Runner Up. The two other teams shall be given recognition.

INTERSCHOOL ACCOUNTING QUIZ COORDINATING COUNCIL UNIVERSITY OF LA SALETTE - JUNIOR PHILIPPINE INSTITUTE OF ACCOUNTANTS
1. The 7TH CABUYADAO CUP is open to all representatives of higher education institutions offering BS Accountancy program within the region. 2. Each participating school is allowed to send in ONE (1) team of TWO (2) members. 3. The quiz will cover all the CPA licensure examinations subjects. 4. The quiz consists of thirty (30) questions. Ten (10) each for the following three categories: EASY, AVERAGE and DIFFICULT. Each question has the following equivalent points: TWO (2) points for Easy, THREE (3) points for Average, and FIVE (5) points for Difficult. Participants will be given TEN (10) seconds and SIXTY (60) seconds to answer THEORY QUESTIONS and PROBLEM SOLVING, respectively. 5. Participants are advised to be at the designated place FIFTEEN (15) minutes before the time scheduled. Late participants are still allowed to participate; however, the team will be disqualified for the questions it had missed. 6. Participants will be provided with a copy of the questions. The Quizmaster will read each question ONCE. The timer starts after the Quizmaster says GO. 7. Calculators (non-programmable) are allowed and flash cards provided for the contest will be used. 8. All points will be accumulated in all three categories. The team garnering the highest score will be declared the winner of the 7TH CABUYADAO CUP. In case of tie, a CLINCHER question will be drawn. 9. Clarifications regarding a particular question/problem must be addressed to the Quizmaster before the Quizmaster starts reading the next question. Only participants are allowed to raise the clarifications. The decision of the Quizmaster is final. 10. Any person found coaching will be forced to leave the room. Participants caught cheating will be disqualified. The Quizmaster shall have the absolute control over the conduct of the quiz.

1. The 4TH ARTHUR SONDAY III CUP is open to all representatives of higher education institutions offering BS Accountancy program within the region. 2. The quiz will cover financial accounting and reporting, management services, assurance services and auditing, finance and economics, business law and taxation, and current issues. 4. Each question has the following equivalent points: TWO (2) points for Easy, THREE (3) points for Average, and FIVE (5) points for Difficult.
