2. Adjustment Procedures for Each Feature


1) Introduction to Adjustment
You have to make adjustments for each feature after replacing an electronic item in the S860. The following table represents necessary adjustments for each item replacement.

. ADJUSTMENT
3> Adjustment Program File The programming for each item that is to be adjusted has to be done in the TXT format and saved on an SD card. The program data should be written as below, and can be saved in a TXT file and used.

< Adjustment Program > A program for adjustment can be written in "Notepad", which is a basic Windows program. When saving, it can be saved as the file name "S483ADJ.TXT".

4> Adjustment Flow Chart Insert the SD card for the corresponding adjustment.

Turn the power on. (Engineer) Boot Up Automatically,Test mode enter / adjustment script performance

2) LENS SHADING
Compensates for the darker area around the circumference of the lens. * The luminance specification for the Light Source Box is 12 LV. * The position of the Light Box is 10mm1mm when the lens barrel is opened. * The Colour Temperature of the Light Box is 3300K.

3) CCD GAIN ADJ
Measure the CCD gain of the camera. Since the actual CCD gain of one camera differs from another, this adjustment is for minimizing the difference. * The luminance specification for the Light Source Box is 12 LV. * The position of the Light Box is 10mm1mm when the lens barrel is opened. * The Colour Temperature of the Light Box is 3300K.

4) CCD DEFECT PIXEL
You can compensate for any defective CCD pixels in the camera. Adjust the defect pixel in the CCD after replacing the main PCB or the CCD. It is advisable to perform the adjustment of the defect pixel in the CCD after running a burning program.

5) BACK LASH ADJ


You can compensate for errors that occur when the lens barrel changes direction. Adjust the backlash after replacing the main PCB, the barrel and the CCD.

6) B/T LEVEL ADJ
Set a warning voltage and lock voltage on the battery after replacing the main PCB. Required Equipment: POWER SUPPLY(2.71V)

7) SHUTTER CLOSE TIME ADJ
You can adjust the close timing of the cameras mechanical shutter. Compensate for a particular cameras shutter timing deviation because each individual camera is different. To adjust SHUTTER CLOSE TIME after replacing the MAIN PCB, BARREL or CCD. * The luminance specification for the Light Source Box is 12 LV. * The position of the Light Box is 10mm1mm when the lens barrel is opened. * The Colour Temperature of the Light Box is 3300K.

8) LRIS ADJ
Adjust the differences between the stages of the camera shutter. When using a multi-stage shutter, there is a difference in the aperture value of each stage of the shutter. Therefore reduce the difference by adjusting per set. * The luminance specification for the Light Source Box is 12 LV. * The position of the Light Box is 10mm1mm when the lens barrel is opened. * The Colour Temperature of the Light Box is 3300K.

9) FLASH ADJ
Limit range of brightness of the flash in order to identify hardware defects. Fires the flash at each EVC level - -1EV, 0EV, and 1EV - in order to identify cameras that are out of the permitted specification range, and acquires the R and B gain of the flash.

< Adjustment Procedures > a...Put up a piece of 36% Reflector Paper in the darkroom. b...Set the camera up in a darkroom, using a tripod. c...Set the distance between the Reflector Paper and the camera at 80cm.

10) FOCUS ADJ
Determine the search range of the AF for optimal focus control of the barrel.

Objective of Adjustment : To adjust PUNT after replacing the MAIN PCB or lens barrel. Required Equipment : Focus Adjustment Chart and Tripod < Adjustment Procedures > a...Install the camera on the tripod. [ External Subject ]

A subject which is further away than the infinitive distance specified by the product.

b...Install the camera according to the conditions of the specified adjustments.

[ Specifications for the subject's distance ]


Point the camera towards a building or a subject from an infinitive distance (the chart is not used). Adjust the punt using a subject as a point of reference from an infinitive distance such as a building or an object outdoors. - Subjects without contrast, such as the sky in mono-color and a snow-covered landscape. - Aim at a place further than the infinitive distance specified in the product specifications.

e...The adjustment is conducted automatically. The OSD on the LCD monitor is cleared after booting (preview mode only). Operate with the specified shutter (big/small). Adjust the punt as per the position of the zoom. Carry out inspection by referring to the specifications as per the zoom step. Carry out a fast inspection by setting a short scan range. Carry out the inspection with the long scan if it is out of the short scan range. Carry out inspection by referring to the gradient variations for each zoom stage. Write the adjustment value in the EEPROM by referring to the EEPROM WRITE data. Write the result of the adjustment value in the data file by referring to the CARD WRITE data.

<Adjustment Method> Open and check a CSV file created in the memory card for adjustment.

11) BURNING TEST
This is to detect hardware or software defects in a camera by repeated use of the camera functions. If the following program for adjustment is used, burning will be done first and then the automatic adjustment of the defect pixel in the CCD will be performed.

< Adjustment Procedures > a...Save the Burning program into the SD card. b...Install the SD card containing the program file and turn the camera on.

c...The camera functions will automatically run in the predetermined order. If the test is completed successfully, the "Burning..END" message will be displayed on the LCD and then the camera will automatically be turned off.

12) EEPROM READ


This reads the data saved in the EEPROM of the camera and writes the data as a data file.

< Procedures > a...Save the EEPROM READ program into the SD card. b...Install the SD card containing the program file and turn the camera on.

c...If you turn the power on, the camera automatically reads the data saved in the EEPROM and saves the data into the SD card as a file. d...When all data are read and saved into the SD card, turn the power off. e....If you insert the SD card into a PC, you will be able to find the XXXX.CSV file.

13) EEPROM WRITE
You can write data onto the EEPROM according to the procedures below.

< Procedures > a...Save the EEPROM data into the SD card. b...Install the SD card and turn the camera on.

c....If you turn the power on, the camera automatically writes the data onto the EEPROM. d...The camera will automatically be turned off when all the data are written onto the EEPROM.
