INDUSTRY OVERVIEW
The physical security business in 2012 will look to emerging markets, new technologies and M&A (mergers and acquisitions) activity. In the last two years, the physical security industry has given nothing short of a stellar performance. While it will continue to defy gravity in 2012, its performance will decline in some important measures. Future Growth from BRIC Countries: The aftershock from the 2008 financial meltdown resulted in sovereign debt problems in Europe that are now receiving corrective actions. These will dampen future demand for physical security equipment in India, particularly in the public sector. However, the industry was faced with an even direr economic situation in 2008, but innovative companies did not cut R&D. Instead, they applied new technologies and developed more attractive products for clients. The industry is stronger and we are optimistic that demand will edge forward at a CAGR of 3.7 percent over the next five years. This will depend upon the emerging markets, particularly China and Asia, delivering higher growth rates. The product sales revenues per capita in four regions against the GDP per capita. This shows the penetration of physical security systems in China and Asia is more than one order of magnitude smaller, while economic growth is at least three times faster than the developed economies of North America and Europe. The BRIC countries - Brazil, India Russia and China - will play a major role in keeping demand growing and increase their market share. New Technologies: Five emerging technologies have created new business opportunities. They are wireless communications, IP networking technology, video surveillance-as-a-service, managed video, analytics software and security management software, including physical security information management (PSIM) and physical identity and access management (PIAM). The opportunity for these technologies to create new business opportunities is enormous, led by IP networking technology. There are a good number of medium-sized companies, particularly in video, that have developed cutting-edge products and gained market share. Consolidation and Organic Growth:

M&A activity has grown at a compound annual rate of 12.5 percent over the last 10 years. During this time it has peaked and declined twice, doubling value during the last three years to reach its historic peak in 2011 of Indias 9.847 billion. We forecast the value of deals will decline by 2.5 percent in 2012, despite the fact that the security market will grow by a similar amount, thanks to buoyant markets in the BRIC countries. In the last three years, the volume of deals has only increased by seven percent, but the value has more than doubled, thanks to a few large deals worth more than 1 billion combined. The two trends in the exit valuation figures is that software and biometric suppliers, together with alarm monitoring companies, have achieved the highest valuations in 2011.

The Majors Review Future Strategies: The major multinational leaders have used merger and acquisition as an important part of growing their business. It is therefore surprising that they have almost abandoned this policy in the last two years. There are a number of reasons why, but current exit valuations are not one of them because they are still well below 2006-2007 levels. Most have positioned themselves toward the systems business. This has not required major investment and feeds off their heritage estate business, integrating from other parts of their organization such as fire detection, evacuation, mass notification and energy management. We expect them to extend their interest in PSIM and PIAM software to deliver system differentiation in the integration business. One potential market is outsourcing security services, as a result of reduced budgets in the public sector. Through PSIM, PIAM and, they would have the ultimate service to offer, with little competition from the smart innovative product manufacturers. Investment Business and Security: At the start of 2011, the investment business expected to return to normal. By September, confidence had drained. If the current volatility in world stock markets is short-lived, then the backlog of IPOs will go ahead. A repeat of 2008 when the IPO window closed down completely would have serious consequences for the venture capital industry and their recipients in security. In the first eight months of 2011, only seven announcements of capital injections were made in security, amounting to 85 million. Most of these involved investment companies by Indian venture capitalists. Financing is available but there are plenty of high-tech businesses chasing it. In the present climate, it is unlikely the security industry will receive more than it did in the last two years. However, established companys renegotiated debt financing in 2010. This continued in the first seven months of 2011, with five lines of credit negotiated for 1.4 billion. All have been secured by alarm and home automation installation and monitoring companies in India. Two confirmed the funds will be used for acquisition purposes. Goldman Sachs Specialty Lending Group made a $565 million line of credit to APX Alarm now renamed Vivint. Few venture capital companies specialize in physical security, as it is not the most attractive technology sector. However, there are segments that are particularly attractive including information security, identity and security solutions, and analytical software.

Despite economic problems, the market will continue to grow in 2012. Growth will depend on geographic regions and IP networking. Financing will become harder to obtain, causing hardships to small- and medium-sized companies unable to deliver ROI that clients demand.

COMPANY PROFILE
Ceasefire Industries Ltd: Ceasefire, Indias most trusted fire safety and security company. The company, at heart, is an altruistic one: one that aims at saving lives and giving people the means to protect themselves. The market structure however, is based on keen industry acumen; an instinctive aptitude for sensing the consumers needs, and fulfilling those needs in the best possible way. Since its inception, Ceasefire has grown from a company that dealt exclusively with extinguishers to one that has branched out to cover everything in the fire safety and security spectrum. Ceasefire is Indias largest and best fire safety company and has its expertise in complete fire fighting solutions. Ceasefire has made an exponential leap in scale over a few decades. An evolution; for which we had steadily laid the ground a few years back. By building India's most trusted fire safety brand by making substantial investments in R&D, technology, and manpower. Over the past few years, our sales and marketing network has steadily grown, making strong inroads into over 300 cities and towns across the nation. Our dedicated manpower capability today is approximately 1500 strong. Our product portfolio has expanded beyond measure, to span complete fire safety across all market segments, as well as Safety and Security Systems

beyond mere fire protection. Ceasefire operates in three divisions:

Fire Safety solution division The range of products covers every area of fire safety: from fire safety modules and extinguishers to escape gear and signage.

Security Division Ceasefire's Security Division offers cutting-edge devices designed to protect both compact areas like homes and much larger spaces like shopping malls.

Projects Division This division was created to help design an effective fire safety and security plan for large-scale projects like malls and hotels. The project team will take care of everything; from determining the equipment required to maintaining the products installed.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW The Complete Safety and Security Spectrum, Major investments in R&D, technology transfers and production lines over the last few years have laid the groundwork for growth. The following new initiatives are powering our future: * A new line of fire extinguishers at the very frontiers of high technology and precision engineering, many of them pioneering products in India. * A re-entry into the domestic and automobile segments, with a power-packed product and highly visible retail presence. *An entry into the mammoth 600 crore statutory markets which, if the past is any indication, signals an immense surge in growth for the organization. *Forays into the lucrative new market of Safety and Security Systems.

Ceasefires arsenal of products dont only cover everything there is in the fire safety and security spectrum, they are the best in the market.

All the factories follow a manufacturing process that is easily the most stringent in the country. The methods employed are state-of-the-art and the machinery is as advanced as they come. All this to ensure that the products are nothing short of perfect. Take the fire extinguishers for instance: each of its 50 components are designed to remain functional for well over the defined three-year operative life, a battery of tests ensure that there isnt the slightest possibility of leakage or jamming, and quarterly maintenance checks guarantee a lifelong commitment to the product. Virtually every Ceasefire product carries ISO 9001 and CE certification and conforms to ISI standards.

Their dedication to their other products is no less. Their security products are designed according to the specifications by the worlds best manufacturers. Ceasefires Security Division was created with the aim of providing homes and commercial buildings with a range of intelligent products that safeguard them. These devices range from video door phones to highly sophisticated security systems. Access control system Ceasefires security systems can turn your premises into an impenetrable fortress. These intelligent systems include a range of highly sophisticated products that can guard your home against the most calculated attack. The largest cause of theft (physical and informational) in many organizations today can be traced to unauthorized access. Ceasefires Access Control range helps you eliminate this danger. With unique cards that allow entry only to authorized personnel, code numbers for door unlocking, and biometric IDs for entry to restricted areas; access control devices promise complete safety to the modern office. CCTV Cameras The range of cameras can be broadly divided into bullet cameras (integrated cameras and lenses, sealed to prevent moisture from seeping in) and dome cameras (dome-shaped cameras that have a sturdy aluminum casing).

Video door phones This video door phones let you monitor who enters your home. The systems most fundamental features are the LCD monitors which have a door release option and weatherproof outdoor units with cameras. Ceasefire provides two variations of this system: the Single Apartment Unit and the Multi Apartment Unit.

FINDINGS
1. The number of schools, Tutorials, Restaurants and Banquets who said that there are no security threats in their premises is found that they have installed different security systems in their place. 2. It is also found that those customers who said there are security threats to their premises did not install any security systems in place. 3. Most of the Schools, Tutorials, Restaurants and Banquets are found with more number of CCTVs and Security Guards than other security systems mentioned. 4. It is also found that most of the Schools, Tutorials, Restaurants and Banquets use both manpower as well as security systems for their safety. 5. It is found that most of the customers who have installed security systems in place are satisfied with their systems and very few are not satisfied. 6. It is also found that customers who said security systems do not help in reducing threats also plan to install security systems in the future. 7. Restaurants and Banquets didnt find any reason of plan to install security systems in near future. 8. Out of all the four groups of customers, Restaurants and Banquets are having more number of security systems than the Schools and Tutorials.

35

CONCLUSIONS
The research showed that some of the schools, Tutorials, Restaurants and Banquets are not using any of the security systems available in the market. All of the Schools, Tutorials, Restaurants and Banquets using security systems are using security equipments of different companies other than Ceasefire. The major reason is that the number of customers is less aware of the company and the companys product. People are also giving less importance to the security systems than the security guards. Some of the customers did not install any security system because they feel that its not necessary and some didnt as because there no security threat in their premises. After the completion of analysis we come to the conclusion that maximum respondents wants to secure their self from various threats. On the basis of respondents, I found that only manpower is not sufficient to prevent any kind of threats, so most of the respondents like to use both manpower and security systems to secure their premises. The project has been successfully completed and it helped us to understand the mindset of the respondent and the ways that an organization should follow to always retain their customers.

RECOMENDATIONS
If you're running a business, large or small, it's crucial to be able to put yourself in the shoes of consumers. By understanding the perspective of the people who may purchase your product or service, you can relate to them and their needs, creating more effective marketing messages and improving profitability. Several factors influence consumer behaviors, and you should take these into account when advertising. Since the customers are less aware of the Companys product, more promotional activities should be implemented.

The Supplier should spend on Online Marketing They should also indulge in cost cutting, reach their customers, target markets, build long term relationships, available at all hours, low cost for inventory, and increase sales promotion schemes. Lastly, creating value along with delivering delight to the customer is what is most important.

37

LIMITATIONS
The study focuses and emphasizes on a sample size of 80 customers in Chandigarh due to the time and cost constraint. Since the area of study has only been Chandigarh only and also on a select sample of 80 the results may or may not be applicable to the other cities in India. The research is done for Security products only and not any other products of the company.
