CHECK POWER SEAT FUNCTION Check the basic function. (1) Check that each part functions properly (sliding, front vertical, lifter, reclining, lumbar support) when operating the power seat switches.

CHECK POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (SLIDING, FRONT VERTICAL, LIFTER, RECLINING FUNCTIONS) (a) Check the PTC operation inside the power seat motor. NOTICE: S The inspection should be performed with the seat installed in the vehicle. S Perform this inspection for every maximum position. (1) Move the seat to any of the maximum positions by operating the power seat switch and keep the seat there for approx. 60 seconds. (2) Try to operate the power seat past the maximum position using the power seat switch and measure the time until the electrical current is shut off (motor operation sound will stop, inspection of current shutoff). Standard: 4 to 90 seconds (3) Turn the power seat switch off after the inspection of current shutoff and keep that condition for approx. 60 seconds. (4) Operate the power seat switch to move the seat to the opposite position and check that the motor operates.

3. CHECK LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSY LH (a) Inspect the PTC operation inside the lumber support motor. NOTICE: The inspection should be performed with the seat installed to the vehicle. (1) Move the lumbar support to either the foremost or rearmost position by operating the lumbar support switch and keep it there for approx. 60 seconds. (2) Try to move the lumbar support past the maximum position using the switch and measure the time until the electrical current is shut off (motor operation sound will stop, inspection of current shutoff). Standard: 4 to 90 seconds (3) Turn the lumbar support switch off after the inspection of current shutoff and keep that condition for approx. 60 seconds. (4) Operate the lumbar support switch to move the lumbar support to the opposite position and check that the motor operates.

CAUTION: S Wear safety gloves, because the cutting surface of the seatback frame and seat adjuster may injure your hand. S Work must be started more than 90 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative () terminal cable is disconnected from the battery. (The SRS is equipped with a backup power source. If work is started within 90 seconds from disconnecting the negative () terminal cable of the battery, the SRS may be deployed.) HINT: S The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated. S Use the same procedures on the RH side as on the LH side. 1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (a) Remove the headrest. (b) Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 seat track covers. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. (c) Disconnect the connectors under the seat. (d) Remove the 4 bolts and seat. 2. (a) REMOVE VERTICAL SEAT ADJUSTER KNOB Using a screwdriver, remove the vertical seat adjuster knob cap and vertical seat adjuster knob.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Install the seat cushion cover with pad to the seat cushion frame with new hog rings. Do not damage the seat cushion cover nor make it dirty. When installing the hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as much as possible. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER Install the seatback cover with new hog rings to the seat cushion pad. Install the seatback cover with pad to the seatback frame with new hog rings.

Torque: 4.5 NVm (46 kgfVcm, 40 in.Vlbf) INSTALL POWER SEAT MOTOR ASSY (SLIDE) Install the slide motor with the 2 bolts and nut. Cover the top of the seatback pad with the seatback cover. Install the 2 headrest supports.
