certain
activities.
These
positions
require
little
or
no
travelling,
although
it
is advisable
to
attend
the
59th
IPSF
World
Congress
and
your
subcommittee
meeting
if
one
is
scheduled.
You
should
be
able
to
work
on
a
daily
basis
throughout
the
year
in
your
position
and
have
regular
Internet
access.
You
must
be
reachable
throughout
your
entire
term
through
August
2013. If
you

Chairperson & Secretary PARO Fundraising Subcommittee Positions Available: Three (3) This subcommittee will work with the IPSF PARO Chairperson and Secretary to raise funds for the PARO budget and Development Fund to further IPSF initiatives and assist members attend IPSF events. Members of the subcommittee will work on the following tasks: Developing a list of possible sponsors for the PARO region Develop a sponsorship package that can be used to approach sponsors Approach potential sponsors to support IPSF and the PARO Development Fund
The member of the committee should have: Focused, organized, communicative, reliable, highly creative and resourceful Experienced in financial duties of an organization Innovative ability to create sponsorship ideas and fundraising opportunities Motivated to further IPSF global pharmacy initiatives

Tour
Chair,
where
the
selected
individual
will
work
with
the
IPSF
PARO
Regional
Projects
Officer
and
independently
on
the
following
tasks:
Plan
and
organize
a
Pharmaceutical
Tour
by
collaborating
with
the
host
country
for
the
Pan
American
Region
in
order
to
support
the
growth
of
the
Regional
Working
Group
within
the
International
Pharmaceutical
Students
Federation
(IPSF)
o Create,
finalize
and
implement
a
detailed
program/schedule
for
the
Pharmaceutical
Tour
with
CPs
from
the
Host
country,
and
across
the
Pan-American
Region
o Promote
this
tour
to
all
pharmacy
schools
throughout
the
region
o Attend
the
planned
Pharmaceutical
Tour
Collaborate
with
member
countries/associations
in
order
to
organize
a
regional
Pharmaceutical
Tour
o Taking
the
initiative
to
contact
countries
with
potential
for
establishing
pharmaceutical
tours
in
the
future
o Liaise
with
established
contact
persons
in
order
to
set
up
the
aims
and
timelines
for
achieving
set
objectives
Develop
promotional,
instructive
and
educational
material
for
the
Pharmaceutical
Tour
o Promote
pharmaceutical
tour
through
use
of
electronic
and
media
tools
emails,
Facebook,
blogs/forums,
skype,

Establish
and
maintain
a
database
of
working
documents
to
facilitate
future
planning
and

Interested individuals should submit a 0.5-1 page motivation letter on why they want this position, what similar past experiences they have and what they have achieved with those positions IPSF PARO Public Health Project Chairs The Pan-American Regional Office Regional Working Group (PARO RWG) within the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) is searching for 3 Project Chairs to facilitate the implementation of projects extending between our communities and internationally. Positions available: One (1) chair per project Currently the projects requiring promotion, implementation, and growth are: 1) Diabetes & Healthy Living 2) Malaria Awareness 3) Vampire Cup This is an excellent opportunity to get involved with IPSF and PARO on an international level, as well as to help unify the Americas through health awareness projects. Interested applications will be coordinating with the Regional Projects Officer and running his/her Subcommittee to help organize and assist with the implementation of these initiatives throughout the upcoming year and to see these projects take off throughout the Pan American Region.
Focused, organized, communicative, reliable, highly creative and resourceful Willingness to learn and adapt to what is needed to plan and implement a successful Pharmaceutical Tour Able to time manage, and work efficiently both within a team dynamic and independently Open to utilizing constructive criticism to improve workflow processes Leadership qualities help manage a subcommittee to help with promotion, registration, media and web development Able to utilize technology effectively and efficiently for networking, organizing and planning (i.e. Microsoft office, Skype, Facebook, Blogging databases etc) Able to take initiative, time manage and stay organized Assist in creating promotional material for publication (newsletters, posters, columns, emails) Have creative abilities to navigate around and come up with innovative solutions to barriers encountered Have access to a reliable internet connection Available to contact via Skype meeting and Google doc collaboration Ability to speak Spanish and/or Portuguese is beneficial
Project Details: 1) Diabetes Mellitus Awareness Diabetes and Healthy Living Campaign Already a well-established project promoted within IPSF and APhA-ASP, this project focuses on DM which affects individuals in all regions, including North and South America. November 14th is the International Diabetes Day Objectives/Goals: o Liaise and coordinate with Regional Projects Officer and Healthy Living & Diabetes Coordinator to achieve brainstorm new ideas for campaign, add more information on medications for Type II Diabetes to educational leaflet, and the same for non-communicable diseases (i.e. blood pressure, medication, cholesterol and heart disease) o Promote the campaigns across the Pan-American region, involving increased number of pharmacy schools and associations 2) Malaria Awareness A significant issue in Colombia and the rest of South America, this project has not been significantly established at the international level within IPSF, and would be a great opportunity for helping to unite North and South America. Malaria is a significant problem in certain regions of the world, including South America, and establishing a new project to focus on this would be beneficial for a large area of our region. Goals: o Develop full tool-kits for increasing Malaria Awareness across Pan-American Region o Promote the campaigns across the Pan-American region, involving increased number of pharmacy schools and associations 3) Vampire Cup This project is new to IPSF and has been running for 2 years. It focuses on encouraging people to donate blood within their communities which has become an international challenge for health care. This project has been mostly growing in North America, but is still quite new and has much room to expand. We hope to continue promoting this project throughout our region. Tool kits are well-developed Project Aims: o Increase number of participating pharmacy schools/faculties/ associations across the Pan- American region o Begin as soon as possible with promotion, coordination and implementation Personal Qualifications for Project Chairs: Focused, organized, communicative, reliable, highly creative and resourceful Willingness to learn and adapt to what is needed to plan and implement successful project campaigns Able to time manage, and work efficiently both within a team dynamic and independently Open to utilizing constructive criticism to improve workflow processes

Internal Coordination and Communication Officer Media and Promotional Subcommittee Positions available: Four (4) This subcommittee will work with the IPSF PARO Internal Communication and Collaboration Officer (ICCO) on the following tasks: Creating, designing, editing of IPSF PARO media materials o Examples including but not limited to: Videos, posters, educational resources, and newsletters o Innovating new ways to promote and fundraise for IPSF PARO

Maintaining a database of approved IPSF PARO media designs o Collecting approved designs from our various IPSF PARO members o Providing approved design database to IPSF PARO members o Organizing media information
Participating in the creation of IPSF PARO newsletters o Designing and reviewing publications o Collecting information regarding announcements, events, projects, and ideas from IPSF and our various PARO members Maintaining the IPSF PARO social networks through Wordpress and Facebook o Publishing IPSF PARO videos, pictures, and promotional items o Sharing status updates and information o Innovating new ways to educate, promote, and reach-out to IPSF PARO members
Members of this committee are required to have the following qualifications: Able to utilize technology Able to use the Adobe Creative Suite 5 or higher InDesign program Knowledge of the use of Wordpress is a plus but not required Skills in other programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator are desired yet not required Able to use Microsoft programs of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Able to access Facebook Would require signing up for a Facebook account, if member does not currently have one Able to time manage and stay organized Experienced in creating publications such as newsletters, letters, or posters Have good knowledge of video editing and animations Have creative abilities to produce designs Have access to a reliable internet connection Available to contact via Skype meeting and Google doc collaboration For further information please contact icco@paro.ipsf.org using subject heading Media and Promotional Subcommittee Member Interest.
