Standard Operating Procedure For Transfer of medicine or product to the patient

Purpose: To ensure that patients receive the dispensed products intended for them and with sufficient knowledge to enable them to take their medicines efficiently.

Scope: This procedure covers the transfer of all dispensed prescription items to patients and their representatives.

Responsibility: It is the responsibility of pharmacist to transfer medicines to a patient.

Transfer of medicine or product to the patient

Responsibility: Pharmacist [P], Technician [T], Assistant [A].

Process Steps 1. Greet person. Determine if person is patient representative. Ask the customer for full name and address. 2. Validity and safety check.
