Guiding questions that will provide the framework for the lesson. (Respond to each question.)
Who will you be teaching? (Identify student grade level as well as academic functioning level and specific needs of individual students) College Students in the RN to BSN Program First class for RNs returning to school to get their BSN Who (if anybody) will assist with the presentation of this lesson, and what will their role be? No one will be assisting in the teaching of this lesson. What is the long range goal(s) that is tied to this lesson? Having the student learn how to put together a power point presentation that flows together

What is the specific learning objective(s) for this lesson? Have the student learn how to manipulate images in power point. Take those images and create a Photo story of their view of the learning.

What prerequisite skills/knowledge will students need to effectively access and participate in this lesson? Know how to copy and paste images Knowledge of copyright friendly photos How to edit images in power point How to save power point pages as jpegs

When within the stages of learning will this lesson be presented? (Is it a learning acquisition lesson, learning fluency lesson, learning maintenance lesson, or learning generalization lesson?) Since the class is only 5 weeks long this lesson will be presented in the acquisition lesson.

When will this lesson be completed? (Will it be a one-day lesson or a multiple day lesson?) This will be a one hour lesson within a 4 hour class. Where should this lesson be presented to ensure maximum student access and participation? (computer lab, classroom, science lab) AND what materials will be needed? Lesson will be presented in the Computer lab Students will need internet access to download photo story Students will need enough administrative access to be allowed to load the software

Why are you planning to teach this lesson? Why must this information/skill be presented to the students? This lesson is being used to enforce the proficiency they need in power point to complete their final class presentation. As the students go thru their RN to BSN program they will need to do multiply power points and class presentations.

How does this lesson relate to the PA Academic Standards? Dont have a clue. I will have to research. I am not sure if it applies to college level.

How does this lesson relate to the previous lesson? How does this lesson relate to future lessons?

This lesson will give students practical knowledge in using power point. It will also give them practice on how to make a presentation flow including the use of music and timing.

This is a good practice for the students to get feedback on a presentation before they do their final class presentation.

How will you determine if students have met the lesson objective? (Think assessment) The students will post a YouTube video of the photo story on their student website that is functional.

How should this lesson be presented to ensure maximum student access and participation? (lecture, whole group activities, small group activities, cooperative learning groups) Since the class only has 12 students we will do a whole group activity of the assignment to get them use to using Photo story.
