A floating wish flower locates a desperate child in the middle of rural tranquility; the child picks the flower

up and Unit 7: Narrative Development V1 shifts from his emotionless daze. In a...to Catch a Wish (working title) sudden burst someone calls the childs name causing him to turn in curiosity. When the child turns back the wish is gone and sitting in its place is a massive shard of broken down metal. The kid drops the shard and steps back in fear as his world of illusion is undone before his very eyes in a puff of steam and smoke. After been ripped from his fantasy the child sits once again and begins to cry for the loss of his dream.

to Catch a Wish

Synopsis:

A child roams the outdoors embracing nature and his innocence. As the story unfolds the viewer realizes the child is not free or embracing nature, he is indulging a fantasy to protect his innocence from the harsh industrial labor that is his job.

3 Act Structure:

ACT 1: We are introduced to our Protagonist through a floating wish flower that lands on the childs lap. The child picks up the wish flower and grins. ACT 2: Before the child can make his wish he is distracted by someone shouting his name, when he turns back the wish is gone, resting in its place is a chunk of metal. The child drops the metal and steps back terrified. ACT 3: The outdoor scene evaporates into steam placing him back into the cold reality that is his job as a laborer of a local iron forge. The child rests his head in his hands and begins to cry when the lost wish flower lands back on his lap. The child smiles and blows it away finally making his wish.

Log Line:

In a sudden burst someone calls the childs name causing him to turn in curiosity. When the child turns back the wish is gone and sitting in its place is a massive shard of broken down metal. The kid drops the shard and steps back in fear as his world of illusion is undone before his very eyes in a puff of steam and smoke. After been ripped from his fantasy the child sits once again and begins to cry for the loss of his dream. The child notices out of the corner of his eye that the floating wish flower was not part of his fantasy, he turns and picks up the flower and grins before blowing it to finally make his wish.
