Train The Trainer: Training Structure Training Structure Overview

Agenda During this TTT we will be discussing the following: New Training Structure - Modules - Instructional Guide - Workbook - Handouts/Job Aids

New Training Structure

Although the training content has NOT changed, a new structure is being introduced. This structure is being introduced with ON first and all other markets will follow the same structure. Some re-arranging of content has and may occur to ON and all other markets. The training structure will generally follow the lifecycle of a contract/call flow. Trainers will receive the following materials to aid them in their training sessions: Printed Modules IG Workbook (Answer Key) Handouts/Job Aids Supporting material as required

Modules

The current training modules have been re-formatted in info-mapping (new design software that is an add-on to Word). The look of the modules will be different, but the content will be the same. Once the design team begins a Needs Analysis, the material may begin to change as we begin to identify any gaps. Trainers will receive a hardcopy of the modules. They will be put together in one large binder and placed in the order in which training is to occur. Trainees will NOT receive a printed copy of the modules. However, if during a training session, the trainer feels they must read something that is covered in the module, they will have the liberty of copying the section(s) required and distribute them to the class. We are looking to have information from the modules posted to SP. All the processes will definitely be posted. When this occurs, we will communicate to the rest of the team. Continued on next page

Training Structure Overview, Continued

Instructional Guide The Intructional Guide (IG) will guide you through your training session. The information presented in the IG is as follows: Pre-Training Checklist Learning Objectives - Course Objectives - Objectives for each day Training Schedule for each day - List the lesson to be taught - Method of Instruction - Activities (if applicable) - Timelines - Reviews - Tests

Workbook

The trainees will only be receiving a Workbook when they attend training. The trainer will have the Answer Key copy. The Workbook will have a Learning Contract located at the beginning of the book. The contract will illustrate the expectations in training they are required to meet, in order to be successful. Each trainee will be required to sign the learning contract advising they understand the expectations in training. The WB will have all the activities they are required to complete for training. They are NOT graded, however, if you determine some trainees may not be picking up the information as quickly or require an extra activity due to a lower mark on a test, you may choose to do so. There will also be blank pages provided so they are able to write any notes they may need throughout training and can refer to them later.

Handouts/ Job Aids

The IG will indicate if there is a handout or Job Aid that is to be distributed to the class. The materials will be provided to the trainers as part of their training package. If you think other handouts or aids are required, feel free to copy and distribute anything you feel your class will benefit from.

Supporting Materials

There may be some activities in the IG that are new and require extra materials. These materials will be provided to the trainer during their TTT session. Each new activity will shown to the trainer how to execute them as well.
