Today I realized that there will always be about 50% of this country who is igno rant as hell.

It's just a simple truth. How else can we explain the fact that Al Gore got about 50% of the vote in 2000 and almost became president? This is a man who said he created the internet, who made a "documentary" that was full o f lies about global warming and who pollutes more than anyone, and who recently said Obama might've lost the first debate because he wasn't used to the altitude in Denver. Half of our country looked at him and thought "he'd make a great pr esident". A big percentage of democrats in 2008 voted for John Edwards, and alm ost half the country in 2004 voted for his running mate, John Kerry, and to put him in a position to be one heartbeat away from the presidency as VP. This is a man who cheated on his wife, who happened to have breast cancer, and had a baby with the other woman, while running for president and talking about "the two am ericas", while giving speeches about helping poor people and making huge sums of money off it. About half of america looked at him and thought, "he'd make a go od VP and potential president". We reached the tipping point in 2008, where over half the country had no clue ab out the man who won the democratic nomination for president, Barack Obama. This was a man who lied about every aspect of his entire life, and hardly anyone in the country actually did any research to find out anything about the man they we re about to vote for. So he got by with tons of skeletons in his closet, and we 're just now finding out how scary they are. This was a man who had the least experience of any candidate in US history, only two years as a senator, and before that, he had no leadership experience in any thing whatsoever. He had no qualifications or expertise to be president, but we ignored all that because he was good at giving speeches and was hip and cool. Never mind the fact that he came out of the corrupt Chicago political machine an d had years of being mentored by communists and socialists in his past. We've become more ignorant about our politicians and their policies than ever be fore, not because we've become dumber necessarily, but because we've become more willfully ignorant than ever before. We just don't care about our country anym ore, therefore we don't care about the people and policies that run it. Religion and the family have disintegrated in this country, and without those fr ameworks, the fate of the country no longer matters. A majority of us now only care about ourselves and what's in it for us. We've transformed into a country with more takers than producers, and it's the main reason this 16 trillion dolla r debt hangs over the heads of our children. We've been so irresponsible in our lives, and now it's time we undo the damage t he baby boomer sexual revolution, anything goes generation has done. It's our d uty to ourselves, our families, and most of all, to God to right these wrongs an d make the sacrifices that will be required to put this nation back on a path to prosperity and freedom instead of debt, stagnation, and dependency. The way we start is by doing our homework and learning everything we can about t he men and women who seek to gain our trust and our votes for public office. We start by electing the men and women who put the good of the country first, not their own ambitions and careers. We start by electing the people who have a vis ion for a renewed America with the principles of the Founding Fathers restored, and who have the competency, character, courage, honesty, passion, values, exper ience, and leadership required to put that vision into action. This November, I hope we learn from our national mistake and make the decision t hat will forever be recorded in the history books as the time Americans decided that liberal policies don't work, that enough dependency and spending was enough , and that it was time to take back our country from the hands of gov't bureaucr ats. It's the time in our history that we woke up from a deep slumber to redisc over what made us the greatest and most free country on Earth: limited gov't, p ersonal responsibility, and faith in a higher power. This is the time we show the corrupt leaders in Washington that all the power in our country lies with we the people. With one vote we can throw those leaders out of Washington and change the course of this country forever. It's time to wake up out of our complacency and do our homework, or we'll regret it as long as we live.
