Please give examples of the sustainability of the institutional partnership, for example, new planned activity. How do you see the relationship developing and how do anticipate the partnership will be maintained?

The partnership between the two institutions is going well and despite of all financial constraints nd and difficulties the activities for 2 year continued. The department of Gender studies is actively involved in research activities by its M. Phil students particularly with the reference of women empowerment and their active participation both in local and national levels are the prime part of research. In the same way internship is an essential part of training and education students at master level. Many of them are associated with those NGOs who are working for the emancipation of women as well for their empowerment. Some of them offered their services to train ladies councillors to elevate their political and social roles in society. Do you or your partner have plans to work with any other institution in your partners country or the UK respectively? Not yet

6. Staff development How has work on the project contributed to staff development in your institution and in the partner institution? The staff of Gender Studies department both teaching and non- teaching actively participated in field surveys and workshops conducted by the department to understand the real spirit and importance of women political empowerment in the area of south Punjab. 7. Overview Please summarise how the project has gone, including details of successes and areas of difficulty. Have lessons been learned which may be useful to future research collaboration on the INSPIRE model? The desired targets of the 2 year of the project were not achieved properly as funds were not released by HEC. However, some remarkable work was done by the department itself. For example some works shops were arranged with the collaboration of Doaba Foundation, Awaz Foundation and by some individuals who shared their views on the political role of women and its impact on their social and cultural life.
nd

Recommendations What recommendations would you make to funding bodies and policy makers in order to maximize the effect of: - financial support - supporting activities in UK and in-country The role of HEC is not positive and the concerned office has never bordered to make the financial procedures easier particularly, on the part of BZ university, Multan where the Chair of the Vice chancellor remained vacant for almost six month and it was not easy for the st department of gender studies to release grant for 1 year and till to date we do not know the financial status of our INSPIRE project

9. Additional information Please also include any best practice or news stories you would like INSPIRE to help publicise. The story of two brave, courageous women who not only tried to get rid of baseless social practices of male dominated society but also proved themselves as a source of inspiration for the other women of there area might be a victim of local feudal system, bonded labour and sexual harassment, and physical violence by their men folk.
