ABOUT THE INSTITUTION Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, started in the golden jubilee year of independence

of India, is one of the premier engineering colleges in TamilNadu. It has completed a decade of dedicated service in the field of technical education. It has been recognized for its qualified faculty members and visionary leadership in education. The College is located in a serene atmosphere and at an elevated place on the NH-47 leading to Palakad from Coimbatore. It is located at a distance of 8 km from Coimbatore Railway Junction and 11 km from Gandhipuram Bus stand. The College campus, in Sugunapuram, part of Kuniamuthur, is spread over 50 acres of land. The college has seven departments offering 4-year B.E./BTech programs in Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Civil Engineering and 3-year BSc programs in Computer Technology and Information Technology and Masters programs in CAD /CAM, Engineering Design, Communication Systems, Applied Electronics, Power Electronics and Drives, Computer Science and Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Applications, Business Administration, and MSc programs in Software Engineering and Computer Technology. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. It has an intake of 120 students. The department offers a Four-year BE degree Programme in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) accredited by National Board of Accreditation and 2 year PG Programme in Power Electronics and Drives. It also caters to the need of other engineering departments by way of handling basic electrical and electronics courses for them. The department

is well equipped with the latest equipment for various Labs like Electrical Machines Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Control Systems Lab, Measurements and Instrumentation Lab, Electronics and Design Lab, Electrical Drives and Control Lab and Power System Simulation Lab.

OBJECTIVE OF THE PROGRAMME Neural Networks (NN) have tremendous potential for the real world control problems. NN is a problem-solving control system methodology that lends itself to implementation in systems ranging from simple, small, embedded micro-controllers to large, networked, multichannel PC or workstation-based data acquisition and control systems. It can be implemented in hardware, software, or a combination of both. NN provides a simple way to arrive at a definite conclusion based upon vague, ambiguous, imprecise, noisy, or missing input information. NN's approach to control problems mimics how a person would make decisions, only much faster. This one day workshop in the area of neural network and its applications aims to enhance the intellectuals towards the design of neural network for real time applications. This workshop aims to play a pivotal role by focusing the technical issues confronting neural network and its applications. The Programming methods and application of neural network tool box in MATLAB platform will be discussed and hands on training will be provided along with various neural network implementation methods. This workshop will help the academicians, professionals and students to explore ways to harness more of neural network applications efficiently.
