Garsons and Gisela, a winning combination

Christmas decorations from Gisela Graham are a key part of the festive displays in the Garden Centre. Each year we get in the Christmas spirit as early as February, crafting the charming new collections. The tasteful styles range from quirky, retro and country to nostalgic and majestic. This years themes are: Alpine Holiday, Gingerbread, Heavenly Harmony, Moon Fairies, Nostalgic Christmas, Party Season, Red Rose Fairies, Santa & Friends and Woodland Twilight. Which one will be your favourite? Our Gift and Christmas teams assemble the collections using their expert knowledge and special relationship with Gisela Graham. In addition to Christmas, there are everyday and seasonal ranges including Halloween and Easter that are also prepared months in advance. Weve won many of awards over the years for our Christmas displays and a lot of thought and preparation goes into how the ranges are displayed and promoted in store to create the perfect festive atmosphere for our customers.

Christmas Trees and Festive Plants

Whether youd like a real Christmas tree or an artificial tree, youll be spoilt for choice at Garsons. You cant beat the natural foliage and scent of pine from a real tree and dont worry about clearing up needles we have non-drop varieties in lots of sizes. For a longer lasting Christmas tree, our artificial choices include pre-lit versions so you dont even have to arrange the lights. Decorate your home with festive wreaths, holly and mistletoe from the Garden Centre available in both real and artificial varieties. Fill your home with seasonal cheer and choose from the houseplant selection in the Garden Centre. Christmas favourites include pretty cyclamen in shades of red, pink and white and the poinsettia in festive red and winter white. Or how about an elegant orchid to add a touch of natural style to your festive home? There are plenty of gorgeous pots to choose from. Houseplants make lovely gifts, so surprise someone with a plant this Christmas.

Christmas tree recycling

Bring back your Christmas tree by the 12th January and well recycle it free of charge! Just follow the signs to the recycling point in the car park. Every customer that brings back a tree will also receieve a voucher for a free tea or coffee at our Restaurant.

New taste sensation this Christmas

Farm Shop manager, Nigel Chandler is dedicated to providing the best selection from independent producers. One of his top choices is Panettone from Vincenza in Italy. Nigel says, This authentic Panettone is new to Garsons, from artisan producers at Loison. Its buttery soft and only the highest quality ingredients are selected for their taste and aroma. Nigel has also chosen to feature dark chocolate from Nutritious Delicious. If you think chocolate is a guilty pleasure, try this version thats full of antioxidants. I recommend it for dark chocolate aficionados. The truffles are packed with healthy ingredients that taste divine, with no additives, dairy or colour. Even the sugar has been replaced with low GI agave, for a pure chocolate hit without the sweetness. You can choose from orange, lime, almond and vanilla flavours.

Write your letter to Santa!

Children can post their letters to Santa at Customer Services in the Garden Centre. The post box will be open from 1st December, and the last post collection will be 16th December.

Get festive at the Restaurant

Have a traditional two course turkey lunch with all the trimmings for 12.95. Christmas lunch is available every day from 14th November to 23rd December. Festive food is available throughout December and festive coffee mornings or tea parties can be arranged from 4.95 per head. Contact the Restaurant for details and book from 1st November. The Restaurant is licensed to sell wine and beer.

Fresh Meat and Turkey from the Farm Shop

Order your locally reared Copas turkey from the Farm Shop for the finest turkey lunch. Experts from the Farm Shops long standing supplier, Bevans are at the counter taking orders for other Christmas meats including duck, beef and pork. Theyll also be able to advise you on the best options for preparing and cooking the meat of your festive feast.

Part of the community

Garsons has a long tradition of supporting good causes in the local area. Every Christmas, the Santa Band strikes up in the Garden Centre and the musical Santas collect for a good cause in our community. Last year, the Princess Alice Hospice benefitted and we would like to thank everyone who very kindly contributed. This Christmas, were collecting for Walton Leigh School, a special school for pupils with learning difficulties. Every pupil is supported to develop potential and prepare for adult life. Were very pleased to donate the Santa Band collection to them.

Brand new kit for Staff and Santas!

Were unveiling our fresh new staff uniform in a zesty shade of green, upgraded from the more traditional shade of green. We didnt want the Santa Band to feel left out, so their santa suits have also been replaced with a new version. The santa suits have been knitted to order by a member of Hugh Lyfords family. Hugh, from the Garden Centre, said We thought the santas could do with being spruced up and I have an avid knitter in the family who measured them up and kitted them out!
