The building is set in an exceptionally attractive and important location, having an impact on the formation and design of Skopjes central city area. The building has two underground levels, a ground floor, and seven floors. It has four vertical communication lines, having two entrances at the ground level. In addition to the VIP foyer, on the first floor there is an open space crossed by a communication bridge. The eighth building level is a flat roof, i.e. a terrace with lanterns covering the open spaces in the building. The terrace has a wrought iron fence set above the building cornice. The building is completed with a reinforced concrete cupola holding a flag-post. The structural system is a reinforced concrete frame on the two orthogonal directions. It should be underlined that the building has technical and energy systems that are the state of the art in the construction industry. The most up-to-date and best quality materials have been used for finishing the walls, floors, ceilings, fences, while the faade finish is harmonious in terms of proportion, symmetry, arrangement, relations between surfaces and materials. The rich and superb ornaments consist of high pilasters and columns, large cornices, arcs, cupolas and sculptures. The 37 sculptures on the terrace represent world-renowned figures of the world of diplomacy, each speaking the language of peace and development.

About the Building:

The sculptures on the faade and on the entrance porch are featured with motifs of traditional folk costumes from neighbouring and other friendly countries with which the Republic of Macedonia continually develops ties of understanding and friendship. The northern faade is enriched with traditional folk costumes of Iceland, Republic of Ireland, Andorra, Portugal, Luxemburg, Lichtenstein, Denmark, and Estonia. On the central part, there are representations of traditional male and female folk costumes from various regions of Macedonia. The southern faade is featured with representations of traditional folk costumes from countries in the immediate and wider neighbourhood: Kosovo, Montenegro, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania, then Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Romania and Hungary. On the central part, there are representations of male and female traditional costumes from the Skopje region, Galichnik, and from the Mariovo region. The eastern faade is ornamented with (male and female) traditional city costumes of Krushevo and Bitola. The western faade is enriched with traditional folk costumes from Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Moldova, Slovakia, and Monaco. This structure of friendship, interaction, communication, and cooperation supports the edifice of peace and virtue.

The new home of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia is a home set in a progressive world, in which all can find their place and be respected. It is the place where the East and the West, and the North and South meet in perfect harmony and peace.

The architect Lidija Stojanoska and the sculptor Valentina Karanfilova Stevanovska, B.A. have interwoven their vision of an avant-garde and open world without prejudices, in each corner of this imposing building.
