1. Guru Poornima special

The festival demonstrating the basic foundation of Indian culture Guru-Shishya Parampara (Master-Disciple
tradition) is called Guru Poornima.
The Indian society, steeped in a blind race for modernisation and westernisation, celebrates Mothers Day, Fathers Day,
Rose Day, Valentines Day etc. that are devoid of spiritual science. But the day of Guru Poornima is not celebrated
which is the day when Guru Tattva (Guru Principle) is a thousand times more active.
In the real sense, the real Teachers day should be celebrated on the Guru Poornima. However, today everything that
happens in this secular nations system is without any basis of scriptures.
Ever since the Guru-Shishya Paramapara (Master-disciple tradition) was disintegrated, the land of Bharat, earlier known
as the Golden Sparrow, started hurtling towards destruction. Today, on Guru Poornima, let us take a resolve to re-
establish the Guru-Shishya Parampara (Master-disciple tradition) and express our gratitude to Nirgun (formless) and
Sagun (with attributes) Guru (Master).

Meaning : O dear, Guru is the Shiva without three eyes; He is the Lord Vishnu with two hands. He is
again Brahma with one face.

MEMOIRS WITH MY MASTER (GuruSansmaran )
Years later the implied meaning of His words became clear

In June 2006, I was at my Gurus Ashram (hermitage) in Mumbai. The intensity of the subtle war was at its severest and
my Pranshakti (vital force) was at the bare minimum. I could barely get up to take a bath and used to sleep most of the
time. One day, Shree Guru sent a message from Goa, Tanuja can go to Varanasi to collect the donations on the occasion
of Guru Poornima. The wish of my Shree Guru was my command, but hearing this, I was stunned. On the one hand was
my Shree Gurus order, and my health on the other. I was completely incapable of obeying his orders. At that time, I did
not understand why he gave such an order? He is omniscient. He knew my physical condition too and He was also aware
that seeking alms for Gurus mission is my most cherished vocation. However, at that time, I could not follow His
directive. I apologised to Him within my heart. However, in 2010 when I established Upasana I understood the implied
meaning of His divine words that I have to seek alms for the entire life to accomplish Gurukaarya (Gurus mission). Such
are the Sadgurus (spiritual masters), omniscient and full of vision!!

And Shree Guru gave the Guruprasad(spiritual partake given by Master) of solitude!
Since childhood, I have always loved living in solitude. On many occasions, I felt I should retire to an isolated place. The
lure of the hills was overpowering, but some force would always prevent me from doing so. Once, when I was in Class
XII, I thought of renouncing the world and sent a cousin (who too wanted to take renunciation) to an Ashram, but he did
not like the Ashram head. Hence, having controlled my desire, I started treading the path which God wanted to take me.
In 1997, after getting associated with my Shree Guru, I got the answer to why solitude was so dear to me. After that, I
started doing Samashti Seva (service on a societal plane). In May 2006, I went to Goa for Darshan of Shree Guru. He
simply said, I will arrange a separate room for you so you can live in isolation. At that time, I could not understand the
implied meaning of the divine words of my omniscient Guru. But in 2008, when I came to my paternal village in
Jharkhand and started living in our old house where nobody used to live anymore. I and my God, were the only people
living there ! He got the whole house renovated and four more rooms constructed through the medium of my brother and
gave me the Guruprasaad of living in solitude life-long!

Sadguru knows what is dearest to the disciple
Since my childhood I had a special interest in acquiring knowledge. I had a particular love for books. Let us say this was
my only attachment. Between May 1997 and April 2008, my Shree Guru gave me a special Prasaad in the form of two
books. Both had been given for a special reason. But the purpose became clear to me after some time. It was in
September 1999 that I went to Goa Ashram for Darshan and Pravachan (discourse) of Shree Guru. One day, He put into
my hands two books authored by Him one was Adhyatm (Spirituality) and second one Shiva. He said, Both these
books are special. These are the first copies of these books and I had placed them on the Samadhi (final resting place) of
His Holiness Bhaktraj Maharaj and for this reason, they possess special powers. Give one of these books to the Sadhak
(seeker) who has come from United States and you keep the other one. I was interested in the book on Spirituality.
Hence, I retained that book and gave the other book to the seeker who had come from US. My omniscient Guru was
aware that I do not have the book that He had kept for me. The next day, he asked me, Which book have you kept for
yourself. I said, Spirituality. He said, Did you, ask that seeker as to which book was she interested in? She is younger
to you; you should have asked her. I understood that I should have taken the book of Shiva After coming out of His
room, I met that seeker and recounted the entire conversation with His Holiness Gurudev. She said, Didi, I wanted
Spirituality. I took the book on Shiva from her. Who other than my visionary Shree Guru could have known better that
I have to spread awareness about negative energies in the future. As such, I would require the Shiv Tattva (element);
hence He gave me the Prasad accordingly.
Later in the same week, Shree Guru released another book of His. Some seekers were already sitting when He called me
and put a book into my hands. My eyes welled up with tears of bliss, but there was a profound motive behind giving me
the book which became clear to me later. When I started writing down the objectives of Upasana in 2010, it implied that
I have to do the Seva of re-establishing the Varnashrama system (System of Class and Stages of life), the very foundation
of Indian culture. After reading this book, I told many seekers about the duty of householders and could thereby save the
households of several seekers from getting disintegrated. One day I was telling my Shreeguru how a seekers married life
got restored after suggesting proper viewpoint of householders life, He then smiled and said, You are able to re-establish
the households of others very fast. Its a blessing. Then, I understood the reason behind His giving that book to me. Both
these books are the most valuable possessions for me. After all, what can be of greater value for a Gurubhakt (Gurus
devotee) in this entire universe!
Like a mother, my omniscient Guru knew about my physical capacity.
In April 2004, I had the good fortune of performing seva in the kitchen at the Goa Ashram. The reality was that in 2003,
the process of ego dissolution had started and we had to concentrate on our personality defects and ego, which was
responsible for the mistakes made by us during propagation of spirituality. We were relieved of Brahmin Varna (that of
telling about Sadhana to others) and were given orders to perform the service of Shudra Varna (physical service), under
which we had to serve in the kitchen. Before this, I had an intense desire to serve in Shree Gurus kitchen; but due to the
responsibilities of dharma prasar .

5

SOHAM - Newsletter by Tanuja Thakur - Vol.1 Issue No 13
I could never have the good fortune of serving in the kitchen. So when I got the Seva of serving in the kitchen as a
punishment, it was like a blind person getting back his eyesight! I was doing the Seva with extreme bliss; though my
physical capabilities had been reduced because of negative energies troubling me since childhood. As a result, physically I
was not very healthy since childhood , my parents never allowed me to do much work which required physical labour as
they knew I had a delicate body. At the Ashram, Prasad used to be prepared for 170 seekers and only eight Sadhaks,
including me, were appointed for the service by Shree Guru. Hence, the seva was a bit tough. Along with it, due to the
severity of the subtle war with negative energies increasing all of a sudden, my physical capabilities too had reduced
suddenly and I had to leave my morning walk to save the energy to do kitchen seva. Yet, since I loved the seva of kitchen,
I performed it blissfully. The process of dissolution of ego was going on; the Ashram Administration had ordered that
none of the seekers would praise us even for a job done in an excellent way. One day a Sadhak came and told me, Today,
His Holiness Gurudev was saying, How is Tanuja? Take care of her. she is not used to doing so much of physical
labour. Even though that seeker should not have said that because we were in the process of ego dissolution , but
possibly Shree Guru wanted this to reach me. Hence, the seeker blurted it out. Hearing this, my mind became blissful.
Looking at my physical constitution and blissful face, no one could have said that this service was proving troublesome
for me. Even though I do not like taking medication, I was forced to take painkillers some times in order to continue with
the Seva because I wanted to obey Him and serve Him, with all my might. Moreover, my conscience used to tell me that I
had got this seva for a very brief period. Two years later, due to deterioration in health, I could not continue this seva even
if I had wanted to. The mind becomes blissful thinking how delicate, pure and motherly is the mind of a Sadguru, even
when He metes out punishment to His disciples. His words of encouragement through a seeker provided me more
enthusiasm to do the seva.
There is another incident in this context. In September 1999, I had gone for four days to the Ashram. At that time, self-
defence training programmes had been started for the seekers and the seeker who was responsible for this seva at
organisational level, too had come down to Goa. Thus, one evening, His Holiness Gurudev said to me , You too learn
how to wield a lathi (stick). We must know how to defend ourselves. He called the head seeker of the training
programme and ordered him to teach me the basics. I had to return to North India after two days. Hence, I and the head
seeker knew very well how much I would be able to learn in two days. But obeying the orders of Shreeguru, I started
learning stick-wielding in the balcony of the room in which Shree Guru was. Inside the room, His Holiness was writing a
book and the curtains were drawn. I must have wielded the stick about 8-10 times, when a severe pain shot across my
shoulder, as a result of which I was not able to further wield the stick properly. Just then His Holiness Gurudev came out,
put before me the curtain rod, and said, First, learn how to wield a stick with a lighter stick. After that, pick up a heavier
stick. The head seeker realised his mistake. After Shreeguru went away, he asked me, Didi, were you having a
problem? I said, Yes, both my shoulders are aching. He said, See, I am teaching you, but I could not detect your
problem, but He sensed your problem sitting inside the room.
A Guru never leaves His disciple incomplete. According to this principle, He imparted all the training in physical, mental,
intellectual and spiritual forms. In order to rise up to the parameters laid down by Shree Guru, I too learnt how to wield a
stick, Karate etc and started practising regularly.

2. (a) Suvachan (Words of Wisdom)

Quotes of the Master

Param Pujya Dr. Jayant Balaji Athavale

1.1 The superior disciple
The superior seeker is the one worthy of Sage Vyass quote, meaning that the Guru should
expect defeat from His disciple. This implies that the Guru expects His disciple to merge into God.
1.2 The medium disciple
The Guru imparts spiritual knowledge to him by answering his questions. Since he is yet to master the Yogas, that is the
art of being one with God (Yogarudh) he is qualified only to do spiritual practice from the Path of Action
(Karmasadhana). Such a seeker predominantly has a combination of both sattva and raja temperaments.
1.3 The inferior disciple
A Guru gets a lot of service done from him and then imparts him with spiritual knowledge. He needs to do spiritual
practice for several births. He is predominantly of the rajasik (Raja predominant) temperament.

(b) Quotations from the scriptures

7 | H H
1Z| 7 | - 1

dharma eva hato hanti dharmo rakShati rakShitaH
tasmaaddharmo na hantavyaH maano dharmo hatovadhIt
- Manu Smruti

Meaning: Dharma only destroys (those) that destroy it. Dharma also protects those that protect it. Hence, Dharma should
not be destroyed. Know that - dharma that is destroyed, destroys.
(c) Dharma Dhaara
(i) Several of my friends often ask me which political wing, or which Hindutvavaadi organisation do I belong to? My
reply is simple, I neither belong to any organisation nor am I loyal to a person, I am loyal to God. Be it any
Hindutvavaadi wing, a leader, or an organisation, if they are working in the interest of the nation and for its protection, I
am always with them. If any one of them makes a mistake, I will vocally oppose them for the sake of the society and the
nation. If something wrong occurs, its my Dharma to oppose it and I will surely do so. If some one derides our Dharma,
or ridicules the proud Vedic traditions of this great land of ours, it is our foremost duty to employ any means, righteous or
unrighteous, to destroy them.
(ii) One journalist asked me that if my objective is establishment of Ram Rajya, how will I establish Ram Rajya through
Pravachans (discourses)?
In the real sense, Ram Rajya means reining in ones desires, getting immersed in the principle of God. When each
and every person will start making efforts to establish such a Ram Rajya, it will not take long for it to get established first
of all within an individual, after that in his family and consequently, in a village and state, and then in the nation. Hence,
for such a Ram Rajya, we will have to make efforts from two planes - one, at a personal level and the second, at the
societal level. Vyashti means efforts to do spiritual practice at a personal level for establishing Ram Rajya, make
conscious efforts to remove ones faults and mistakes pertaining to ego.

8

SOHAM - Newsletter by Tanuja Thakur - Vol.1 Issue No 13
At the societal level, it is to stop the devaluation of Dharma and establish a national system based on Dharma, make
efforts to prevent the denigration of deities and cows, give strict punishment to anti-nationals and the Dharma Drohis
(those against Dharma). Luckily, several organisations like ours are making efforts in this direction. And the results of
these efforts are going to be visible within 10 years.
(iii) Whom should the knowledge not be imparted to:
1. One who is more interested in sharing his half-baked knowledge.
2. One who is an egoist.
3. One who is not interested in learning.
4. One who does not have an inclination to hear.
5. One who does not have an attitude of following what is told time and again.
6. One who is more interested in criticizing, than in learning.
7. One who does not have an attitude to learn knowledge with patience.
(iv) The Sanskrut meaning of temple is Devalaya, which means the abode of deities. Basically all our temples
were the centres to impart knowledge about Dharma. But today, while the Muslims teach Quran in the mosque
and Christians teach Bible in church, the Hindu temples have just been reduced to being a centre for ritualistic
practices like offering dhoopam, deepam, gandham, pushpam and naivedyam! For the resurgence of
Hindu Dharma, we need to re-establish the main objective of temples once again!

(v). Every Guru has many followers, but only a few selected disciples, to transform from a follower to a disciple.
One has to delve deep into the sea of devotion for the Guru. Followers accept anyone as a Guru very easily, but
do not obey the directives, whereas the disciples follow the principle of Mantram Mulam Guror Vakyam Moksh
Mulam gurukrupa, meaning that the word of the Guru is the mantra for the disciple and abiding by it is the
final objective of his life. This is essentially the only difference between a follower and a disciple.

(vi). The real source of knowledge does not lie outside, but within us. The light of self-realisation introduces us to
the source of knowledge, but some so called intellectuals search for that knowledge outside and do not make
appropriate efforts for the process of self-realisation.

(vii) What is the meaning of Dharmasapeksh ( state running on the tenets of Dharma or Righteousness) nation ?
Some of my friends want to know what is Dharma Sapeksh and not Dharma Nirpeksh(secular) nation
In this state system, the King in real terms is a Kshatriya (not a Kshatriya by birth, but by deeds) one who
practices Dharmacharan (follows the precepts of Dharma) and will reign the nation under the guidance of a self-realised

9

SOHAM - Newsletter by Tanuja Thakur - Vol.1 Issue No 13
saint ie. Brahmin who will be a Brahmin by deeds and in such a nation, the people will be happy and content and will
abide by Dharma.

(viii) 80% of our problems in material life are due to spiritual reasons
Many of us suffer from lots of problems in our day-to-day life, from chronic addiction to very strained marital
relationship and try to find the solutions to all these problems at mental and intellectual plane. In fact, 80% of our
problems in material life are due to spiritual reason i.e. the root cause of these problems are spiritual in nature. The
problems can be mainly due to severe destiny, unsatisfied souls of ancestors, or due to negative energy. But thanks to the
secular education system of India, todays hardcore intellectuals disbelieve these facts and try to first solve their
problems at all other planes than spirituality and later compromise to live a stressful life.
One well-wisher told me that if you sing Bhajans (devotional songs) for half the duration of your Pravachan (discourse),
it will add shine to your discourses. I replied that just as oxygen is administered to an intensive care unit (ICU) patient,
similarly todays Hindu is akin to a patient in an ICU. He needs to understand Dharma properly and do Dharmacharan
before anything else. Today, singing Bhajans is not the Sadhana. Right now it is time to shake up the sleeping Hindus
who have lost all their wisdom in the blind race for modernization and westernization and are getting ready to jump into a
well for self-destruction.
(ix) A well wisher suggested me that if I sing bhajans during the half session of the pravchan then the attendance in the
discourse will increase a lot. I replied As in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) the patient is given oxygen similarly today the
Hindus are in a bad shape due to lack of awareness about their Dharma , therefore today the need of the hour is to tell
them the science of spirituality underlying Vedic Sanatan Dharma and help the hindus abide the tenets of Dharma and
not waste the precious time of Discourse in singing bhajans . Today the Hindus are sleeping with their eyes opened so
the pravchans has to be so invigorating that they get awakened else they are heading towards doom following the trend
of modernization and westernization.
(x) Who are Karmayogis?
i. One who does acts relentlessly.
ii. One whose every act is dictated by the attitude of nondoership.
iii. Whose every act does not lead to fruits, meaning every act is non-action.
iv. One who lives with equanimity even in sorrow.
v. One who lives in constant bliss.

(d) Essence of Gita:

* 1

H 1
Dukheshvanuddhignmanah sukheshu vigatspruhah
Veetaragabhayakrodhah sthitdheermunirucchyate
Meaning: One whose mind does not become agitated even in the midst of calamities and is not at all interested in the
attainment of pleasures and one whose passion, fear and anger have been destroyed, such a Muni (saint) is called
Sthirbuddhi (one with a steady intellect).

Gist: One who retains equanimity in both sorrow and happiness, experiences the feeling of bliss. Happiness and sorrow
are both experienced by the mind and bliss is experienced by Jivatma (embodied soul). Mind is only a bundle of thoughts,
and upon doing Sadhana (spiritual practice), the mind gets dissolved. As a result, happiness and sorrow do not have an
impact. The feelings of passion, fear and anger are impressions of the mind. But once the mind has been dissolved, all the
disorders too get destroyed automatically . Happiness and sorrow are relative to time, the circumstances and the objects.
On the other hand, bliss is irrespective of time, the objects and the circumstances and once a seeker completes his or her
Sadhana, he or she begins experiencing bliss and such a condition is known as Sthitpragyata (equanimity).

3. Practical guidance on implementation of spirituality

Whose name should one chant, the Kuldevta or Kuldevi?
If there is only Kuldevta, that name should be chanted and if a family has only Kuldevi, Her name should be chanted.
If a family has both, the name of Kuldevi should be chanted. The reason goes thus: in our childhood, even when both the
parents are there, the children become adamant only with the mother, for the mother fulfils all the wishes. Similarly, in
comparison to Kuldevta, the Kuldevi can be appeased faster.
If ones Kuldevta is Ganesh, Panchayatan, or Vishnu Panchayatan, consider the head of Gods of Panchayatan, meaning
Ganesh, or Vishnu (in that order) as the Kuldevta.

11

SOHAM - Newsletter by Tanuja Thakur - Vol.1 Issue No 13
If the name of Kuldevta is not known, the elders of the family should make efforts to seek more information on Kuldevta
from the family name, caste brethren, or from people of the village, or from the village priest. Some families have a
family tree. That too contains the name of Kuldevi or Kuldevta.
If the name of Kuldevta is not known, one can chant Shree Kuldevtayee Namah, or can chant the name of the favourite
deity. After a certain period upon completion of the chanting of the favourite deity, the saint who reveals the name of
Kuldevta, or the Guru himself comes into ones life to give Gurumantra.

4. Anubhuti (spiritual experiences) of seekers

Anubhuti of Bhaarat Pandya, Africa

Shri Bhaarat Pandya
I came into contact with Maa via Facebook. Initially, I was not reading her posts seriously. Generally, before adding
anyone to my Facebook friends list, I always used to check the horoscope if the date is available (as I know a little bit of
basic astrology). One day, after reading her posts, I felt a bit curious and prepared her horoscope from the basic
information that she had shared on Facebook. The chart is indicative of an extraordinary soul that has come down to earth
to enlighten people like us.
I have come in close contact with many well-known saints and gurus but somehow, I was not particularly impressed by
anyone of them. But I could experience an irresistible pull towards Maa. I have been regularly doing morning and evening
prayers, but after getting associated with Maa, I now derive immense bliss from Sadhana. Surprisingly, I started to get her
vision in the photographs of our Kuldevi and Maha Lakshmi kept in the place of our worship in the house.
I did not believe in doing pooja of a living person. Hence, I had removed the photographs of all the goddesses and kept
only photographs of Ganesh, Shiv and Bajranbali. I thought that I saw her because of some apprehension. I even stopped
doing Puja for seven days. I have a photograph of Maha Lakshmi on my desk calendar. As soon as I looked at it, I could
experience her vision and I could realise that she is omniscient and is not restricted to my place of worship. I immediately
called up Maa and sought her blessings. After doing Sadhana prescribed by Maa, I was completely cured of my habit of

12

SOHAM - Newsletter by Tanuja Thakur - Vol.1 Issue No 13
drinking and smoking. After meeting her, I and my sons are experiencing rapid progress in business and jobs. My wife
had come to India in February 2012. Upon my insistence, she took one of her nieces to have a Darshan of Maa.
Surprisingly, she casually told so many things about our family that my wife and her niece were surprised. After meeting
her, the nieces problems too have started reducing. The day my wife went to have a Darshan of Maa, the same day one
of my friends offered me a partnership in the business without my having to invest money. I had been making efforts to
enter such a business for the last two years. Maa sent a strip of the chant of Dattatreya stickers with my wife and the very
first day, just keeping them under my head while sleeping, cured me of my two-year-old backache.
Analysis of Anubhuti: When God feels that a seeker needs guidance in the gross form, He starts the process of guidance
through some spiritualist in the gross form. My subtle form becoming visible in pictures of goddesses was a divine game
of God, so that the seeker's Bhav towards me should increase and he is inspired to be guided further. We have no
contribution to make in such Anubhutis.
Bhaarat Pandya's house had Pitru Dosh of a severe level and by doing qualified Sadhana, he could free himself from from
his addictions and he derived monetary benefit. The strip of chanting that I had sent with his wife, has been made under
the guidance of my Shree Guru and is a Sattvik (pure) strip and thus, spiritual healing was done on him and his troubles
vanished, for his back pain was of a spiritual nature.
Anubhuti of Abhishek Thakur
On April 28, 2010 I was coming from Kolkata to Ranchi. In the train, a lady literally sprawled on my seat. I was
about to say something when I felt as if Tanuja Didi was sitting there. After that, I did not say anything,

Shri Abhishek Thakur
Analysis of Anubhuti: Experiencing the Anubhuti of Guru Principle and God principle in everyone is the primary
objective of Sadhana. However, saints who have attained the state of non-duality, can experience that state constantly. If
the Sadhak is in the state of Bhav (spiritual emotion) in Sadhana, such an experience can be felt for few moments.

5. Spiritual healing, questions and Anubhuti vis--vis negative energies

From this issue, under this heading, we will take a look at the questions and Anubhuti of seekers pertaining to negative
energies.

Question: There is a problem in my house. From 10 pm, a stench fills up the house every day. The room in which this
happens has a photograph of my deceased mother. This stench sometimes comes from other rooms of the house too. It has
been eight years since my mother passed away. There is always tension in our house without any reason. Children too
always appear irritated. My wife has low blood pressure.
- Abhimanyu Singh

Answer: The stench coming from your house is due to negative energies. Keep a scanned copy of your mothers
photograph with you so if at any time you wish to look at her picture, you can see the scanned one and immerse her
photograph that is kept in your house in running water, She has not got Gati (momentum).
For Pitru Dosh and Vaastu Shuddhi, make all the regular efforts. Ask your wife and children to do salt-water treatment.
After doing all these solutions for six months, tell us whether there has been any improvement in your situation.

For solutions pertaining to Vaastu Dosh: http://www.tanujathakur.com/?p=3928
For salt-water solution: http://www.tanujathakur.com/?p=1798
Anubhuti: Today, 100% of the population in the society is suffering from medium to severe level Pitru Dosh. Our
ancestors get Gati only if qualified Sadhana is done. In this context, we will take a look at the Anubhuti of a seeker.
It was around 3:30 am on June 5, 2012. It was Pooranmasi (Full Moon Night). I was half-asleep, due to constant
switching on/off of the air-conditioner (AC) due to low-voltage and hence I was not able to sleep properly. Suddenly, I
noticed some shadowy apparitions around me, many of them. They surrounded me and my parents in the bedroom. They
started showering black-coloured rays. Soon, the whole room was having black-coloured rain and it became pitch dark. I
became frightened and called out to Didi for help. Barely had I uttered Didi's name, she appeared in the form of light. Her
feet were firmly placed in the air and she was wearing a cream-coloured Sari.

14

SOHAM - Newsletter by Tanuja Thakur - Vol.1 Issue No 13
She had long untied hair. She immediately began showering a volley of resplendent light rays. As they hit those shadowy
creatures, they first cried out in agony and then, in pleasure. Soon, the whole room was drenched in light. I heard Didi
suggest to the shadows that no one should leave before blessing the descendents. It was then that I woke up and was
feeling a bit scared. Upon waking up in the morning, I realised that I had a sore throat and it took seven days for it to be
cured. For three days after the incident, I could feel her subtle presence and always felt that she was around me on a lion. I
saw her moving, sometimes from my left side and sometimes from the right side. - Biresh Banerjee
Analysis of Anubhuti: The problem in his throat confirms that it was an attack at a subtle level by familys unsatiated
ancestors, but his Bhav being good, God came in my form to help him and protected his family. The trouble in his throat
also confirms the subtle attack and it was due to the black energy emitted from unsatiated ancestors. God came in my
form and did some spiritual healing on him and he could feel my subtle presence. The veil surrounding him was destroyed
and a protective shield formed around him.

6. Clarification of doubts

Namaskar Tanuja Didi,
This is Snehal, I'm from Sacramento, California.. I am on your page on Facebook. I need some light from you to avoid
distraction while praying.
Answer : To prevent distractions while praying, you need to try the following points:
1. Sprinkle gaumutra (cow's urine) in the entire premises in the morning and evening. It will purify your house and help
you have better concentration!
2. Before praying, make a kavach (protective armour) around you. Pray in this way, O God! Please form protective
armour around me so that I can concentrate while doing my spiritual practice."
3. Do the salt water remedy. It will cleanse your aura around your mental and intellectual sheath. For more information on
this, visit this link:
http://www.spiritualresearchfoundation.org/articles/id/spiritualresearch/spiritualhealing/saltwaterremedy
4. Also, do a lot of chanting. It will help you concentrate during spiritual practice.

7. Efforts made by seekers for spiritual progress

Shri Dheeraj Chauhan and Smt. Juhi Chauhan

A couple from Aligarh is an ideal for todays youth
In October 2011, I first met Mrs. Juhi Chauhan at Aligarh. Her husband came to Bareilly to attend a Pravachan
(discourse) after reading my posts on Facebook and invited me to come to their house. After meeting Juhi, I found that she
is more curious. She is a talented woman and runs a centre for the personality development of students. Her husband too
imparts training on several aspects of personality development. I spotted a special yearning for Samashti Seva (service at a
societal plane) in both of them since the first day. When I went to their house for the first time where they had shifted
quite recently - they organised a Pravachan at their new house and invited their neighbours. Again, in March 2012, they
organised a three-day spiritual workshop. They publicised this programme extensively with the help of a few friends.
Consequently, people got rich benefits from it.
Again in June, they organised a Yuva Sanskar Varg (Youth camp for inculcating values). Many students and youth
benefited a lot from this camp too.
Both the husband and wife are serious towards Samashti Sadhana and both possess good values. The reason is that the
parents of both of them have been associated with saints and served some nationalist organisations.
The couple are also making efforts to inculcate values in the children. As I found out, their two daughters address them as
Maa and Pitajee, instead of saying Mummy and Papa that is widely prevalent today. They do not allow the daughters to
eat food from outside needlessly, nor are the children allowed to watch television needlessly, unlike most children today.
Whatever I had told him regarding Vaastu Shuddhi (purification of the premises) and Vyashti Sadhana, they make efforts
to implement the same. Their inclination towards doing sacrifice for work pertaining to Dharma too is admirable. The
Yuva Sanskar Varg that they organised had been kept free of cost and they themselves bore the entire cost of the camp.
The inclination to do work of Dharma and render selfless service is rare in todays youth. Thus, this couple from Aligarh
is an ideal duo for todays younger generation.

8. Anubhuti during Dharma Prasaar and Dharmayatra

Whenever a Sadhak starts doing Samashti Seva under Dharma Prasaar, one begins to make spiritual progress at a rapid
pace because in Kaliyug, the importance of spirituality is 30% and importance of Samashti Sadhana is 70%. In such
cases, negative energies trouble the seekers and try to sow doubts in their minds. Such Anubhuti (spiritual experiences)
have been felt by saints, ascetics and sages since times immemorial, all those who used to hold Yadnyas (sacrificial fire)
for welfare of the society. Asuras (demons) would make an all-out effort to destroy their Yadnya. Even today, negative
energies try to create hurdles for seekers in various ways in their Sadhana.
A seeker in Delhi, Smt. Anu Goel was doing Samashti Seva with a lot of Bhav. She wanted to organise a Pravachan in a
temple near her house and also contribute in the propagation of Guru Poornima Mahotsava. She suddenly fell from her
stairs and suffered a spinal fracture, with the doctor advising her complete bed rest for a few weeks. Thus, her desire to
participate in Guru Poornima remained unfulfilled. But she did not develop any doubt about this, which demonstrates her
Sadhakatva (seekerhood). She kept praying for Guru Poornima Mahotsava even as she lay on the bed and performed
whatever Seva she could do. Thus, no matter how much the negative energies oppose, if a seeker has an intense desire
he/she makes constant progress on the path of Sadhana merely upon the strength of their devotion and Bhav.

9. Theoretical aspect of spiritual practice
What is the difference between a saint and a Guru?
Saints too are at different levels as per their sadhana, saints of the status of Guru (70% spiritual level) emit vibrations of
Shakti (energy); saints at the status of Sadguru (spiritual master) at 80% spiritual level, are saints of the next higher level
and they emit vibrations of bliss. These vibrations are even more subtle than vibrations of Shakti. The saints of the highest
status Paratpar level - are at a spiritual level of more than 90% and they project vibrations of peace.
All Gurus are saints, but all saints are not Gurus. The status of a Guru is a difficult one and many a time, saints are not
willing to accept this status because they like to remain in a state of bliss. The mere existence of such saints maintains the
Sattvikta (purity) of the universe. Some saints remove the spiritual problems of devotees, but they are not desirous of
accepting someone as their disciple and take one to Moksha (liberation), for saints know that merely accepting one as a
disciple is not enough. Till the time the disciple attains Moksha, it continues to be a responsibility of the Guru. Hence,
many Gurus remain alert while accepting disciples and only accept eligible seekers as disciples. Merely by accepting the
status of a Guru, saints make progress towards Final Liberation at a rapid pace. God does not select every saint to be a
Guru, He confers the status of a Sadguru only upon those who have a special ability to teach others, possess a maternal
affection and are forgiving in nature.

10. Why is it so in Vedic Upasana?

Practical suggestions about using a japamala (rosary)
A. As far as possible one should use ones own mala (rosary). Mostly, each ones chanting is different. Hence,
if all use the same mala, the frequencies developed in it can even prove distressing to some.
B. One should use only one mala. With use, pleasant vibrations develop in it, and consequently the charged
mala facilitates concentration.
C. If one is recommended the chanting of two or three Names for spiritual reasons, then one should chant with
the same mala. Due to chanting of those Names, frequencies essential for oneself develop in that mala and
prove beneficial to the individual.
D. Prior to commencement of chanting, holy water should be sprinkled on the mala (prokshan) and then it
should be worshipped ritualistically (puja) or obeisance (namaskar) should be offered to it.

E One should take care to see that the beads do not strike each other while chanting. Hence they should have a
knot in between them. According to the scriptures, if a sound is generated by the striking of the beads with each
other, then the chanting is said to be futile.
Why are there 108 beads in a rosary?
Out of 33 Koti (crore) gods and goddesses, whose name should one chant?
What are the benefits of chanting?
Why should a rosary be kept inside a bag resembling Gaumukh (cows mouth)?

11. Activities of Upasana

1. A session of clarification of doubts for seekers had been organised on June 20 at the house of a seeker, in
which seekers got their their doubts resolved.
2. On June 23 and 24, a Pravachan had been organised in Noida. Seekers from Delhi, Shri Neeraj Saxena, Shri
Ravindra Pandita, Shri Bireshwar Banerjee and Smt. Anu Goel made a special contribution. All these seekers did
the Seva of Dharma Prasaar with all their might and invited people for the Pravachan.

(i) On June 26 and 27, a Yuva Sanskaar Varg was organised in Aligarh.

Picture of the event:
(iii) This camp was organised by Smt. Juhi Chauhan and Shri Dheeraj Chauhan of Aligarh. The entire publicity of
the camp was done by the couple. Children showed particular interest in the camp. Some adults too came in the
camp meant for children and they said that they even they did not know much about the issues discussed at the
camp. Hence, they too attended the camp along with the children to attain knowledge.
(iv) The youth showed a special interest in the process of removal of ego.
(v) On the third day of the camp, when children from classes II to IX were asked who was Swami Vivekanand, 49
children did not know who was Swami Vivekananda and one child said that he was a chess champion. When they
were asked how many Vedas was there, only one child could reply that there are four Vedas, but even he could
not tell their names properly.
(vi) The birth place of Sita Mata was known to only one student.
(vii) When children were asked what they would become, only two children replied that they would become
soldiers. (This explains why senior positions in our Army are lying vacant.)

(viii) One well-wisher suggested that the camp should not have been kept free of cost, saying that 'The Art of
Living' people priced a camp for children at Rs. 500/- per child and there were larger numbers there.
(ix) 49 out of 50 children said that we should eat our food with a spoon, because mother says that eating with a
spoon keeps our hands clean and we are called civilised.
(x) Most of the children cannot read Hindi properly, they cannot understand Hindi numerals.
(xi) A majority of the children have opted for Urdu, rather than Sanskrit, as their third language, for knowledge of
Urdu is a must to get admission into Aligarh Muslim University.
