Marriage Academy: Marriage Seminar & Marriage Talk (continued) Martez and Woodrina Layton have been partners at The Mount since 2008. They both served in the Marriage Academy & College. They currently serve as counselors at Summit Counseling Center, as PLA facilitators and lead the Marriage Academy. Martez is a Certied Professional Life / Marriage Coach, author and motivational speaker. Woodrina is an educator and currently pursuing her degree in counseling. They both own DreamBuilders Professional Coaching. The Laytons have been married for 20 years and are blessed with two children. Single Series Minister Uliase Addison has been a partner of the Mount since 2008. She has served in the dance ministry and is currently an Associate Minister and leader of the Youth Bible Study at the Mount. She is a 2004 and 2005 graduate of Old Dominion University where she earned her bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a MS degree in Elementary Education. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education degree with emphasis in Organizational Leadership. VHDA: Home Ownership Sister Jeff Washington is the Principal Broker and Owner of East Coast Realty in Chesapeake, VA. She is, also, licensed in North Carolina as a Real Estate Broker. She has been a partner at the Mount since 2005

Meet the Facilitators

The Book of James Essie Snead has partnered with the Mount since 2000 serving in various ministries to include Diaconate, Practical Life Academy (PLA), New Partners Academy, Intake Ministry, Signet Family Life Center. Currently, Elder Snead serves as co-leader of PLA. Christian Parenting Frank and Monique Anderson have been partners at the Mount since 2005 and both serve in the Diaconate Ministry and as team leaders in the Intercessory Ministry. Frank serves as PLA Ministry Co-Leader and has served in the Doorkeepers Ministry. Monique, an accomplished published author, serves as First Time Guest Ministry Leader. They have a blended family and have been happily married since 1995 with ve children and one grandchild.
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Elder Valerie and I are excited to present to our partners the Practical Life Academy (PLA) training brochure, The TRANSFORMER for 2012. In this brochure, you have the opportunity to engage in life changing classes to equip and empower you both spiritually and in your daily practical living. Our facilitators are believers who have demonstrated their love for Christ and for teaching others in a Christian environment. As you move through your spiritual growth journey, we invite you to be an active partner in the PLA training track. It is our hearts desire to provide an environment that allows you to mature spiritually through biblically based trainings designed to challenge and stretch you in all areas of your life. We believe that your ability to inuence others for Christ will expand as your relationship with Jesus Christ deepens. These classes are designed for this purpose. Our mission is to build disciples, a nation of Kingdom believers, who are prepared to employ their gifts in the Kingdom. Discipling others in the classroom setting is an essential component in accomplishing this mission. We encourage you to register for the classes and become Transformed as you allow Gods Word to manifest in your life to change you and others around you in this new year. Coupon Class Terri Hargrave-Bradley has been a partner of the Mount since 2008. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the American College for the Applied Arts, with a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design and Fine Arts. She has competed and won International competition for her custom jewelry designs, in which her jewelry was on display at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. As a war veteran, having served in the United States Air Force in Desert Storm and as a military wife, Sister Bradley knows the struggles of trying to make ends meet. Her passion in ministry is to share her gifts and knowledge by helping others during this difcult economic time. Marriage Academy: Marriage Seminar & Marriage Talk Elder Wayne and Sabrina Richards have worshipped at the Mount since 1992. Elder Wayne served in leadership positions with the Men's Ministry, Trustee, Budget Committee, Family Life Department, MLCA Board, and currently serves as PLA facilitator . Sister Sabrina has served in Pastor's Aide, Intercessory Ministry, Women's Ministry, the Diaconate, circle of Light Curriculum Developer and PLA facilitator. The Richards have been married for 30 years and are blessed with three beautiful children.

Special Equipping Class (continued) Virginia Housing Development Authority: Home Ownership Saturday - 9:00am - 2:00pm - October 27 Be prepared for homeownership, including the latest trends in the housing market, resources, and available programs. Spiritual Formation Marriage Talk Sundays - 8:00am to 10:00am - October 21, 28 November 4 Bishop Kim Browns book Marriage Talk is the foundation of this class to empower couples with the skills to cultivate a successful marriage through self examination. Two sessions are listed and we ask that class participants commit to one of the sessions, attending each of the class dates, 6 total. Completion of one of the sessions is a prerequisite for being married at the Mount. Candidates for Baptism Sundays - 8:30am to 9:30am - October 21- November 11- December 9 Candidates will gain an understanding of the basic principles of baptism. Class attendance on one of the listed dates is a prerequisite for being baptized.

What is the Transformer?

The TRANSFORMER is the training publication for The Mounts Practical Life Academy (PLA) classes and workshops. PLA is a part of the equipping strategy for maturing believers. Our facilitators demonstrate fruitful Christian living and possess a deep love for Christ and teaching others. Classes are held at the Cathedral unless otherwise noted. All upcoming Practical Life Academy (PLA) training information for October through December is in this brochure. Registration may be competed online at www.themountleads.org under Discipleship classes or by contacting the Partner Services Unit at 757-547-3388. All courses noted with a require registration. Registration is recommended for all courses. Courses not meeting minimum registrations are subject to cancellation and/or rescheduling. This class introduces believers to theology vice doctrinal viewpoints and provides insight on how to grow and mature spiritually and have a more fullling and closer relationship with Christ. Practical Christian Living Christian Parenting Wednesdays - 6:15pm to 7:00pm - November 7, 14 Become a more effective parent as you are introduced to effective parenting skills for children of all ages.
