TITLE AUTHOR REASON FOR SELECTION

: FOR ONE MORE DAY : Mitch Albom : The structure of the novel is simple enough that it does not present any real
issue, and the pacing is relatively lively to the point that chapters do not tend to drag on. The novel is broken into four principles sections and the material develops fluidly and manages to top itself each time with more anticipation and emotional moments that leave impressions in you for the remainder of the book.

KIND OF STORY THEME

THOUGHTS ON THE STORY BEST PART OF THE BOOK RECOMMENDATION

I highly recommended people to read books from Mitch Albom. Even though I have only read two of his books, but I realized that I found more meaning to life every time I come to the end of each book. I think we shouldnt grasp on to the mistakes we made in the past nor the anger that still triggers us from what others did before. For one more day is to go back and change, in Chicks case, it was to make good with a lost parent, to explain the family secrets and to seek forgiveness. As we are still young, we should start appreciating everything that is important to us, because we may lose it without care. And sometimes it is just the ordinary moments that are hard to forget, as Chicks mom had said, You can find something truly important in an ordinary minute.

KEY LEARNINGS

1. Life is short and we have to spend a majority of it in showing our love to people dear to us. 2. treasure little the things they already have. They will eventually feel regret when they find that they have actually lost all the things they consider to be

theirs. Many people are insatiable never satisfied with what they have got and keep asking for more. However they do not have the strength to meet adversity or lifes vagaries. Once they encounter challenges, they simply break down into despair and disappointment in other words, they long for a life that adds to their well-being but they get completely destroyed when their easy life is made difficult by problems that they have never been aware of. 3. love is the biggest influence in our life. We treasure love with love we can have a better understanding of ourselves and get to love all those around us. Remember, grasp the chance to love your parents, family members, teachers and friends. I hope every one of you can have a meaningful and joyful life by sharing your love with the people who come into your life.
One is that maybe it really is true that we dont know what we got till its gone. From the book, I learned this lesson by Chicks reaction after his mother passed away and after he lost his family, his job He was basically left with nothing to lean on anymore; he lost the most important things in life. He drank most of his time, didnt sleep well and didnt eat well. And looking back at what you have lost, most of the time it would be too late to go back and change. So I learned to hold on to the ones I love and care and make every moment the best because you wouldnt want to be left with regrets in the end. The other lesson was learned based on one of Chicks final thoughts, he wrote, I feel ashamed now that I tried to take my life. It is such a precious thing. I had no one to talk me out of my despair, and that was a mistake. You need to keep people close. You need to give them access to your heart.(pg. 193) This paragraph touched me mainly due to how I felt yesterday. I felt really stressed out and I tried to talk to my friends, but they didnt make me feel any better so I just ditched the chat and went off continue reading this book, just as I was up to this paragraph, I thought, if I try to push them away from me, I am never going to feel any better. If you push everything away, that will only pull you further away from your balance. The balance is all the important things in life. So if say I ignore friends, fight with my family, give up putting efforts into my work, I am going to lose balance and slowly lose grip and fall to rock bottom. So instead of feeling depressed and stressed out, think again, is it because you are pushing other people away, is it because you dont give them access to your heart? Because I found out that was exactly my problem for being so stressed after all. I would say, keep your hearts open to anything because we are going to get hurt sometime in life, but if we stay strong, find our balance, and keep everything important to you close by your side, you will realize that nothing is ever that hard to get through.
