A few days later their mailer made the same deceptive claim. The organization HAS NEVER stated that biotech foods are safe.

Prop 37 would require labeling of most processed and packaged foods that contain Genetically Engineered (GE) ingredients and pet foods that contain GE ingredients like corn and soy. 61 other countries label (GE) foods, and they all have some common exemptions. Prop 37 exempts products that have no ingredient labels, such as restaurant food and alcohol. By CA law a ballot initiative cannot cover more than one subject Prop 37 would label meat, dairy, and eggs from animals that have been genetically engineered (GE) themselves. Some of these papers editorial boards copied paragraphs directly from the No on 37 press releases instead of seeking the truth. In contrast, many independent newspapers are endorsing Prop 37.
