GLOWING object stunned locals and grounded planes as it lit up radar screens
A MAJOR airport was forced to shut down to prevent packed passenger jets crashing into a UFO. The "flat and tubular" object hovered two miles from Bootee in Inner Mongolia, a part of China. Astonished officials say it then zoomed in to circle the airport before suddenly vanishing. Three flights from Chinese cities Beijing and Shanghai were diverted to nearby airports. It is the THIRD mysterious UFO sighting this year to have resulted in Chinese airfields being closed. Xiaoshan, in Zhejiang province, shut for a few days in July after an "oddly-shaped, twinkling bright light" was seen nearby. Another scare was reported earlier in the summer at Hong Kong. The latest UFO was spotted by air traffic controllers in Inner Mongolia's capital Hoot on radar screens. But they could not make radio contact with it and immediately warned Bootee. A spokeswoman said: "To guarantee security, aircraft had to land at secondary airports. Otherwise, it may have led to collision." The airport was closed for around an hour last month. The Chinese authorities have refused to comment but some experts believe the three sightings could be evidence of a new Chinese military aircraft.

Nick Pope, a former Ministry of Defence UFO investigator, said: "Whatever you think about UFOs there are serious national security and air safety issues involved." v.wheeler@the-sun.co.uk http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3165067/UFO-closes-an-airport-inChina.html#ixzz11cl4FFqU -0-
A RETIRED US air force officer yesterday made dramatic claims about a famous British UFO scare. Colonel Charles Halt insisted he saw a "bright glowing object like an eye" approach him and colleagues. They were patrolling RAF Bentwaters in Suffolk in 1980. The base was used to store nuclear weapons. Col Halt is among a group of ex-servicemen who insist Western governments are covering up widespread alien interventions at nuclear sites. His evidence supported sightings by US troops at the base used by American forces. Some reported seeing a "triangular, dark metallic" object that vanished at high speed. Col Halt, who retired in 1991, said in Washington yesterday he later found depressions in the ground where the craft landed and high radiation levels. UFO expert Robert Hastings said there was evidence going back 60 years of aliens observing nuke development. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3155808/Colonel-I-saw-nuke-siteUFO.html#ixzz11cn4m1IX

There seems to be a growing trend among schools to stage a UFO crash, and then teach students how to react, as well as to properly investigate and report on the incident. It sounds like a lot of fun, and a great way to fire up a students imagination as well as writing skills. Hell, I wish we would have done a staged UFO crash at my school. The latest UFO drill took place Wed, Sept 29, at Sandford Primary School in the UK. The kids were treated to a full UFO crash scenario that included wreckage, police tape, and real police officers. (Perhaps it was only lacking men from the government telling the children not to talk about what was seen.) Whats interesting is that police were on hand to show the children how to properly investigate the UFO crash site. Um, were any of the officers speaking from experience? A news article at The Weston Mercury elaborates on the role played by the officers: Teacher and organiser Victoria Shepherd said: PCSO Wright and PC Church were brilliant. They helped the children secure the scene and talked about what to do in an emergency, how they gathered evidence, how to interview witnesses etc. Are UFO drills becoming something of a routine part of the curriculum in the UK? Its certainly becoming more and more of a common event. Each time, its a joint exercise put in place by the school and local law enforcement. A similar drill took place in Feb of 2009 when Lanchester Endowed Parochial Primary, in County Durham, staged a surprise crash behind the school. In Sept 2008 children from an Edgware school were made to believe aliens had landed in their playground by teachers and police. Again, each time it was conducted by the school system and police teaching children what to do in event of a UFO event. Afterward, the kids are asked to write about their experience. -0-
