CALLING ALL FACULTY!!!

Among its programs and activities, the ACPA Standing Committee for Graduate Students and New Professionals (SCGSNP) has a Faculty-in-Residence Program. Through the Faculty-inResidence program, the SCGSNP selects two distinguished scholars (one emerging and one senior) for a period of one academic year to assist in the academic and professional development of the SCGSNP membership. QUALIFICATIONS The SCGSNP Faculty-in-Residence Program is open to scholars who have a strong commitment to the success of graduate students and new professionals in the field of student affairs and higher education. Applicants must have received their PhD at least one year prior to the projected start of their residency with the SCGSNP and need to be a current member of ACPA. BENEFITS The SCGSNP provides its Faculty-in-Residence with the following benefits: A forum to present their scholarly or creative work to ACPA community. A direct voice to ACPA leadership and membership to share thoughts, ideas, and concerns An opportunity to shape the future of ACPA by providing immediate and direct feedback Recognition on ACPA website and in convention publications A $300 research grant EXPECTATIONS After the Faculty in Residence have been confirmed, they will be expected to partake in the following initiatives: Be in residence from January 2013 to May 2013, but are also welcome to remain in residence throughout the summer of 2013 if they wish. Participate in SCGSNP Directorate conference calls (quarterly) Attend the ACPA Annual Convention and participate in SCGSNP programs during the convention (once per academic year),

Write a Research, Practice, or Thought Brief for the SCGSNP Newsletter (once per academic year), Lead a webinar, conference call, or other technologically interactive roundtable discussion related to personal area of scholarship and/or practice with issues related to graduate student or new professional (once per academic year), Serve as an expert resource for SCGSNP and general ACPA membership seeking advice and/or feedback on issues related to graduate student or new professional (ongoing throughout the academic year).

APPLICATION PROCESS SCGSNP Faculty-in-Residence applicants must submit the following application materials: 1. A cover letter that address the following: Why are you interested in the SCGSNP Faculty-in-Residence program? Why do you believe you would be a good fit for this position? One objective of the Faculty-in-Residence program is to create professional development opportunities for ACPA graduate students and new professionals. Please describe 1-2 activities that you would plan to fulfill this objective of the program. 2. A current curriculum vitae 3. A letter of recommendation from a graduate student or new professional with whom you have worked.
