com Cal Poly Pomona University Bachelors of Science w/an Emphasis CIS an MHR Graduation Date: 2013 Career Goal: Application Developer, Technical Recruiter, HRIS Analyst My Career Plan At the age of 10 my family purchased our first computer, a 1998 Compaq Presario. It was then that I began to develop a strong bond with computers. Since I used the computer frequently, most technical related issues were traced back to me by some of my family members. Therefore in order to avoid punishment from my parents, I earned a reputation for my ability to fix computers . Two years later I created my first webpage using homestead, a web design software at the time. Although, it didnt require any html coding, I experienced a good feeling knowing that my page was viewable by others across the world. However, when I got dragged into Cal Poly Pomona University, I was still unsure about which field I wanted to study. I began my indecisive journey by studying Biology, Music, and then finally switched to MHR. After learning a scripting language known as Action Script, I decided to take CIS 231, an object-oriented programming class utilizing Java. I was the only non CIS major, and the only student enrolled in that class for non-credit and hobby driven purposes. I found CIS 231 to be the most challenging out of all the other courses taken at Cal Poly Pomona University. However, I loved the instant gratification that I received from a working line of code, and the friendships I created from assisting students run a working program. The course inspired me to pursue a second degree in Computer Information Systems and also helped re-evaluate my career path to integrate MHR and CIS. With my background I would like to pursue a career of either of the following: an HRIS analyst, a Technical Recruiter, or an Application Developer. 1.1. I wish to earn a reputation for recruiting top tier talent for these companies and get promoted to an upper-level management position. However, I do realize that my Short Term Goals are crucial if I wish to succeed in obtaining my long term goals. Thus, as a student of Cal Poly Pomona University it is very important that I join clubs and actively participate in any activities that are beneficial for me.
