The Second of two messages The Clean Slate Justification, your legal standing before Father God Keeping

ing the Slate Clean Sanctification, working out your salvation The bottom line of this message today is taken from Philippians 2:12-13 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed--not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence--continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. The expression The Clean Slate is an expression meaning a new start The expression Keeping the Slate Clean does not mean never using it, but more dont let it get contaminated As these messages build on each other so we will live a in transformed state, living in the pattern of Father Gods kingdom, lets review last week. Justification.

Legal standing our position has changed, We have been moved from condemned to blameless Our Legal standing before Father God is righteous We are clothed in the righteousness of Jesus we are seen in His inherent goodness Once for all time it is finished It has been done in Christ; He did a complete job You receive Justification and are declared righteous before Father God, when you receive Jesus Entirely Gods work by grace through faith For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. If you are still here and you are in Jesus, then He has a purpose for you Perfected in this life He has adopted us as He children There are no half measures or second class children in Father Gods household The same for all the children of God we are all in the same position Everyone who enters the household of the Father receives the Righteousness of Jesus There is not other way in! THERE IS NOW NO CONDEMNATION FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST It can not be taken of you, ...in all these things we are more than conquerors... If anyone is in Christ they are a new CREATION, the old has gone, the new has come II Cor 5:17 Gal 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.

So what does the word sanctification mean? Let look at the Hebrew and Greek word used in the Bible: Hebrew: QUADASH to be clean; holy; dedicated; set apart; Greek: HAGIAZO to make holy To HOLY is to be like GOD in character and attitude: (2 Cor 3:18 NRSV) And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit. Glory = revealed character of God

A pithy definition of what sanctification means in practical terms the process of becoming like Jesus.

A Picture of Sanctification as a process of becoming Christ Like (Gen 5:24 NIV) Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away. (Heb 11:5 NIV) By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death; he could not be found, because God had taken him away. For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.

(1 Pet 1:14-16 NIV) As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."
