Observations from Walking Dead episode 303 (Walk with Me) [Spoilers are included, so if you didnt watch

yet, consider watching first, before you read!!] This was the first time an episode has been shown without Rick featured at all. It was interesting hearing Andrea mention all of the season 1 people who passed on. Some of them were not spoken of since .season 1. Merle seems kinder than I expected, given what he experienced. It seems like he had a good rapport with Andrea (and her sister) during the time they first met. Michonne and Andrea act horrified at the act of the governor finishing off the nearly-dead men in the copter crash. They are somehow behind the curve with regard to how all deaths result in the corpse turning walker. The Governor calls the walkers biters. Thats the third colloquialism used by characters to describe the zombies. Walkers of course, and then the term Lame-brains used by Dave and Tony, the rogues from season 2. The Governor comes on real smooth, but it makes us even more sure that extreme badness is forthcoming. Andrea seems more trusting of the Governor, whereas Michonne is not. The Governor can be a textbook case study of the nature of dictators. The most ruthless dictators make you like, trust and depend on them. The lady showing Andrea & Michonne around shows no fear, but rather respect for the Governor and his troops. He makes the walls seem not like prison bars keeping people in, but only a barrier keeping evil forces out. The Governors scientist Milton working with Michonnes pets reminds me of the doctor in the original Dawn of the Dead who was running experiments on a zombie nicknamed Max, so he could determine a way to try to control them. Milton and Merle each at some point look fearful of how the Governor might react. As a matter of fact, Merle looked slightly pissed when the Governor shot all those troops. Andrea seems to have a history of falling for the power-hungry bad boys Shane and the Governor alike. The Governor is definitely an extension of what Shane would have eventually become if he had eliminated Rick and gathered more survivors under his realm. The Govs men are experienced guerilla warriors! Yet it seems kind of hard to believe, that all those Woodbury guys could get in position like that for an ambush without the troops spotting them. Especially given that the soldiers were in a flat, kind of barren area, its harder to accept. I wonder what the heck is in that tea? Perhaps a sedative to keep everyone docile? That Milton guy seems to have a conscience. Im not sure if hes gonna last long! Where did they get all those solar panels I wonder? The Governor actually has a good idea with the curfew. You cant attract those walkers at night with noise and light. Be assured in the real non-zombie world, I would be opposed to such an idea being made mandatory. Is Andrea angling to become Mrs. Governor? When the Gov starts giving his speech of lies about how the army convoy was unprotected by walls and thus that the walkers had overtaken the men, but that they were able to get weapons, ammo and supplies, Michonne immediately gives a knowing, glaring stare that says

youre full of sh**!!. Any reasoning listener can decipher that a fully armed military unit shouldve been able to hold off walkers. Woodbury is a suitable metaphor for the State in the modern world. A group of people are made to be afraid of threats (show=walkers, real life=terrorists) in the outside world, thus they sacrifice their liberty/freedom in order to be protected. They are made to believe they are pursuing their own goals and advancing society, but in fact all they are doing is propping up the existing regime! As the Gov enters his private room, he eyes a picture on his shelf. I suspect those people in the picture are members of the Governors former family. Are those walker heads in the tank alive?? Being a beheaded walker must be a most gruesome torture. They are immobile, unable to eat or move, and unable to die and put themselves out of misery. This man is truly evil.

Until next week folks! Keep the Dead alive!!
