We Gather Together
We gather together to ask the Lord's blessing; He chastens and hastens his will to make known; The wicked oppressing now cease from distressing, Sing praises to his name: He forgets not his own. Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining, Ordaining, maintaining his kingdom divine; So from the beginning the fight we were winning; Thou, Lord, wast at our side, All glory be thine! We all do extol thee, thou leader triumphant, And pray that thou still our defender wilt be. Let thy congregation escape tribulation; Thy name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free! Amen --Traditional Thanksgiving Hymn (A translation by Theodore Baker: 1851-1934)

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? What do you expect when youre not doing what you know is right? But yet, you complain of your hardship, each day and every night! What do you expect when you keep walking down that known dangerous path? But yet you see little progress in your growth..come on..YOU DO THE MATH!!! What do you expect when others have their hands tied to your so called needs? But yet, you wont yield to all the warning signs as you continue your sinful deeds! What do you expect when you dont go to church regularly as most Christians do? But yet, you appear baffled when you reach down and theres no reserve word inside of you! What do you expect when the ones you love wont follow you, and you stand alone? But yet, you question their Christianitytheyre in church but you are gone! What do you expect when theres no consistency in your walk and others easily see? But yet you wonder why youre hitting and missing when you choose other gods over me! What do you expect when you go to make a withdrawal and you find no cash is there? But yet you dont tithe regularly! Why should your heavenly father care? What do you expect when you put others before me? But then you come a crying when no miracle you do see! What do you expect when you dont spend any time in prayer? But then you wonder if, in fact, my presence is, even, there! WHAT DO YOU EXPECT??? Anthony Jones
