The control panel of KWB-412 is as shown in Fig 2.

Cauti on: In order to avoid damaging the film of control panel, please dont touch the keys with sharp material. Composite keys for function conversion 1. [ STOP ] + [ a ] + [ a ] Conversion keys for the measurement unit of gram/ounce. First, please press [STOP] button and hold it, then press [ a ] and [ a ] at the same time, the information displayed on the control panel will put out; after a while, please release button [ a ], [ a ] and [STOP] in turn, the previous tested data will be redisplayed at once but with another kind of unit system. Note: The different sequence for releasing the keys may result in the different data displayed, but it is not necessary for operator to perform other operations, directly pressing [Start] button is ok.

for entering the status of measure scale calibration. The self-calibration for measure scale is required to perform when starting the balancer each time, otherwise the correct measurement status cannot be entered (the detailed information about self-calibration will be described later).

2. [ STOP ] + [ C ] The keys for measurement mode selection after putting down the wheel protection. Please press [STOP] button and hold it, then press [C] button and hold it; release [ C ] and [ STOP ] button in turn, the measurement mode will be alternated between Put down the wheel protection to start measurement and Put down the wheel protection to start measurement by pressing [ START ] button.

4. [ D ] + [ C ] The keys for outside parameter calibration before measurement. The keys are used to calibrate the CPU memories corresponding to the wheelbase, rim width and rim diameter of different wheels, so as to ensure the measurement accuracy (it is necessary to calibrate in both Auto mode and Manual mode).

5. [ STOP ] + [ OPT ] Keys for diameter data adjustment of auto measure scale function. The diameter data of different vehicle wheels can be stored into CPU through this operation, and the data can keep stored even after balancer shutdown (the detailed operation will be desd later).

Tools
To ensure the smooth installation and adjustment, please get the following tools ready: An adjustable wrench, a set of box wrenches, a pair of scissors, a set of screwdrivers and a digital multi-meter (measuring voltage).

Installation
Transport
It is advisable to transport the machine with a forklift (Fig. 3) l Pay attention to the barycenter of the machine. Do not tilt the machine much during the moving. l Do not drive the forklift too fast. l Keep the location of the machine on the forklift as low as possible. l Do not overturn it during the moving (pay attention to the position of the barycenter).

Attention: Special anti-rust oil applied on the precise parts may attract dust. Clean it when necessary.

Positioning
The installation position must satisfy the requirement of safe work.
The machine should be installed close to the main power supply. l The machine should be installed on the even concrete floor or other floors with hard surfaces. Adjust the anchor bolts till KWB-4XX is level and stable. (Fig.5). In order to fasten the machine reliably, use one M1235 fastening bolt to fasten the machine on the floor tightly. Otherwise, it will cause vibration and noise. l Enough spaces should be kept for operation and maintenance. The space should be not less than 1m at them on a safe place. Then, remove the cabinet fixed on bottom plate of packing box and place them at a safe place. l

Unpacking

l Open the packing box according to the Instruction on it. Remove the packing materials (Fig. 4) and check whether the machine is damaged during the transportation. Confirm whether the main unit, accessory parts, and relative materials are all included. l Keep packing materials away from children. If the packing materials may cause pollution, please dispose them properly. l Remove accessories and spare parts supplied with the machine and place

front and sides and 0.6m at rear to satisfy normal operation of the machine. If the machine is installed outdoors,

the protective shelter is necessary. l Keep the machine away from flammable gases.

Installation
Attenti on: l Please place, move, and store KWB-4XX in accordance with safety signs on the package l Never lift the rotary shaft when moving, installing or operating KWB4XX. Otherwise, the rotary shaft may be damaged. Make sure that the machine is stable and in good condition after installation. Then install KWB-4XX according to the following Setup Instruction. Step 1: Installation of the hanging handle Take out the handing handles from the accessory box (Fig. 6) and screw them into the square holes on the left side of the cabinet (Fig. 7) Fig. 8

Fig. 7 Step 2: Installation of the control panel 1. Take out the post board from the accessory box. Unscrew the four screws on the board (Fig. 8) and remove the rear

2. Place the post pads between the cabinet and the post panel, and then install the post panel on the rear of the cabinet (Fig. 9).

Fig. 9 3. Take out the control panel from the accessory box. Remove the rear cover of the panel (Fig. 10) and install the control panel on the top of the post board.

Fig. 12 Step 3: Installation of the wheel protection 1. Unscrew the screws and nuts on the supporting casing. (Fig. 13).

Fig. 13 2. Insert the protective pipe of the wheel protection into the supporting casing. (Fig. 14). Fasten the protective pipe on the supporting casing by the screws and nuts. (Fig. 15)

Fig.1 5 Step 4: Switch on the machine l Check whether the power supply is in accordance with the requirements of the data plate on the machine before connection. All connection of circuit must be done by professional. l The socket of the power supply must be installed within the reach of the operator. The height should be set at 0.61.7m. l If the supplied voltage is not stable, please use a voltage regulator. l The machine must have a good cabinet ground connection. Now you have finished the installation of KWB-4XX successfully.

Self-calibration Program of the Balancer
Attenti on: The self-calibration program should be run after the equipments first installation or if the measurement accuracy of the equipment is suspect, to ensure the measurement accuracy of the balancer. Turn on the power supply switch of the balancer, install a wheel with medium size (13 --15 ), input the data of the

protection again, and press key to re-rotate the main-shaft. The control panel will display the information as shown in Fig 18 when the main-shaft stops rotating.

Press key at the same time, the control panel will display the information as shown in Fig 23.

Self-Testing Program (Testing Position Sensors and Indicators)

Press key, the control panel will display the information as shown in Fig 24.

Press key, from left to right, the indicators flash one by one, and the control panel will display the information as shown in Fig 27.

14.0 is the default value. Press key to input the diameter (10--18 )

the wheel rim installed. Press key, the control panel will display the information as shown in Fig 25.

Adjustment for Sensors and Inside Parameters


Sensor Adjustment Level sensor adjustment (Calibrate it after adjustment each time, and then check it). When the data at the inner side is larger, please move the level sensor to the right. Release the nut at the inner side first, and then screw the nut at the outside clockwise; when the data at the inner side is smaller, please move the level sensor to the left. Release the nut at the outside first, and then screw the nut at the inner side counterclockwise.

Fig 28 Once the wheel turns by one circle, the [0] will appear on right screen one time. When the wheel rotates to the reverse direction, the indicator ALUS will start flashing. Press key, a number will be displayed on the right screen, which is the distance between the inner side wall of the wheel rim and the balancer cabinet. When moving the measure scale, this number is changed, too. Press key, a number will be

displayed on the left screen, which is the diameter of the wheel rim. When swaying the measure scale, this number is changed, too. Press

key at current status to return to the procedure of calibrating the diameter measure scale.

Press key to return to the procedure of calibrating the width measure scale. Attenti on: The operator can press the self-testing key to exit

Adjustment for Inside Parameters

Press key, the control panel will display the information as shown in Fig 29.

Adjustment for gram number error When the displayed data is smaller than the actual data, please adjust AnP higher (about two times of the error value); adjust it smaller contrarily. 2. Keep 1.-1 between 05. 3. Phase error adjustment: Rotate the wheel until all five indicators at the inner side of the display panel are lit. Observe whether the counterweight is at the bottom of the wheel rim or not. If it is, the phase value of PHA should not be changed; if it isnt, the phase value of PHA should be increased or decreased. 4. Pro should be set as OFF.
