STORESMANAGEMENTCONTROLSET TheStoreManagementControlSet,whichintherealaircraftislocatedinthefuselagesavionicsbay,providesthe controlforloadingweaponsandexternalfueltanksintotheaircrafteightpylons.Thesystemisoperatedbytheground crewaccordingtoaStoresLoadWorksheetthatisfilledbytheCrewChief.Inthiscaseyouonlyneedtofillthe worksheetandthegroundcrewwillmakethenecessaryadjustmentstothesystem.

OPERATION TheStoresLoadWorksheetcanbeviewedbyusingFSXsviewinstrumentsmenu.TheWorksheetisonlyoperational underthefollowingconditions:Aircraftisontheground,Parkingbrakesaresetandengineiscompletelyshutdown(0% RPM).ThepointisthatonlygroundpersonnelhaveaccesstotheSMCpanelandtheywontworkiftheairplaneishot.

TheStoresLoadWorksheetisdividedin3areas: 1. Loadoutselection Inthissectionyouspecifywhichweaponsloadwillbeinstalledontheaircraft.Duetooperationalrestrictions onlytwodifferenttypesofweaponscanbecarriedatanygiventime.Themixisendlessandcanbecomposed byeitherAirtoAirand/orAirtoGroundweaponsasthemissionrequires. 1.1WeaponsSelection: Toselectaweaponyoumust: a. ClickonthelinebeloweitherWeapon1orWeapon2columntitles.ToselectaweaponunderWeapon2, theWeapon1columnmustbefilled.RepeatedlyclickingonthewordNONEwillcyclethroughtheweapons selection. b. Clickonthelinebelowthenameoftheselectedweapontoindicatethemaximumamountthatwillbe loaded. NOTE:Althoughyoucanselectthemaximumquantityavailableforagivenweapon;thatdoesnot necessarilyindicatethatwillbetheamountthatwillbefinallyloadedontheaircraft.Excessweapons requestedwillbeignored.

ToselectoneofthetwoEWpodsavailable,theAN/AAQ28LiteningIIortheAN/ALQ164ECMpod,youneedto clickonthelinetotherightoftheEspPodlabel.Thequantityisalwaysoneandyoucanonlycarryonepodata time.Nextyouhavetoselectwherethepodwillbemounted.TheLiteningIIpodcanbemountedeitherin stations3,4or5.TheALQ164podcanonlybemountedinstation4. 1.3ECMConsumables: TheAV8BalsocarryECMconsumablesintheformofChaff,FlaresandDisposableFrequencyJammers.These consumablesareplacedinsixbayslocatedintheaircraftstail,fouronthetopandtwoonthebottom.Eachbay canholdamodulecontaining30unitsofaselectedconsumable.YoucanselectanyECMconsumablemixthat youwanttocarry. ToselectaECMConsumableyouonlyhavetoclickoneithertheUP(indicatingthetopbays)ortheLOW (indicatingthebottombays)columnsnexttothelabelofyourchoice.Eachnumberactuallyrepresentasingle modulecontaining30units.TheECMpanelintheaircraftwillshowunitcountinsteadofmodule. 1.4WeaponsInstallation: Onceyouhaveselectedtheweaponsthatwillbeloaded,youwillneedtodetermineinwhichstationstheywill beinstalled.Therearesevenavailablestationsintheaircraft,countedfromlefttoright,startingfrom1and endingin7.Theworksheethasanoutlineoftheaircraftshownfrombehindtohelpyoudeterminethelocation ofeachstation. Thestationshaveweightlimitationbasedontheirdistancefromtheaircraftscenter.Thefartheraway,theless weighttheycancarry.Alsotherearetechnicallimitationsregardingweaponsinstallations.Thefollowingtable showswhichweaponcanbeselectedandwhereitcanbeinstalledalongwiththemaximumnumber. FuelSelection Inthissectionyouselectthefuelquantitythatwillbeloadedintheaircraft.Therearetwooptions:InternalFuel andExternalFuelinauxiliarytanks.Alsointhissectionyoucanreloadtheaircraftwatertankifneeded. 2.1InternalFuelSelection: Sincetheaircraftiscapableofverticaltakeoffandlanding(VTOL)operations,fuelweightisacritical consideration.Youhavetwooptionsforinternalfuel:Fullfuelloadwhichwilltopallinternaltanksto100%fuel, butwhichwillcarryaweightpenaltythatwillpreventtheaircraftfromVTOLoperations;orVTOLfuelload whichwilltopallhullinternaltanksbutwillfillthewingtankstoonly40%offuelcapacity,enablingVTOL operations. ToselecttheinternalfuelloadyouonlyneedtoclickonthelinenexttotheInternalFuelLoadlabel,thelinewill changetoreflecttheamountloadedintheaircraft. RAZAIRA1AV8BBNFM001 2.2ExternalFuelSelection: Theaircraftiscapabletocarryupto4300gallonexternaltankstoincreaseoperationalrangeand/orallowlong ferryflights.TheexternaltanksarecarriedinStations2,3,5and6.Theselectionofanexternaltankwill precludetheuseofthatstationforweaponsinstallation. Toselecttheexternalfuelloadthatyourequire,clickonthesquarenexttothestationlabelwherethetankwill beinstalled.Ifanyweaponwasalreadyinstalledinthatstation,itwillbeuninstalledandthefueltankmounted instead.

ATTENTION
FSXfuelmanagementrequiresthatallfueltanksbeavailableatalltimes.Theexternaltankshavebeenassignedthe followingFSXfueltanks,fromlefttoright: STA2:EXTERNAL1 STA3:LEFTWINGTIP STA5:RIGHTWINGTIP STA6:EXTERNAL3 Ifthereisanyamountoffuelinthesetanks,nomatterhowlittle,thesystemwilllockthestationandtheassigned externaltankwillbevisibleoverridinganyweaponinstallation. 3. AircraftWeightLimits BecauseoftheVTOLcapabilities,weightmanagementisamustinthisaircraft.Itisessentialtomaintainbalance withintheaircrafttopreventproblemsduringflightorVTOLoperations.Everythingthatisloadedinthisaircraft hasweight.Notonlythepilot,thefuelandtheweaponsbuttheircontainersandracksaswell.Forexamplean externalfueltankweighs207poundsempty.Sowhenyouaddanexternalfueltankyounotonlyaddthefuel weightbutthetankaswell.AnotherexampleiswhenyouloadthreeMK82Lbombs,eachindividualbomb weightsabout500poundsforacombinedtotalof1,500pounds,buttheejectorrackalsoweighs105poundsso thetotalweightofthe3bombswillbe1,605pounds. Thissectionisnotinteractivebutinformative,sinceittellsyoutheactualweightoftheaircraftsoyoucanmake aninformeddecisionregardingtheloadoutchoicesthatyoucanusedependingonthemission. OntheCommentssection,thecrewchiefwillinformyouwhethertheaircraftiswithinVTOLweightlimits,ifit mustdoanormaltakeofforifitistoooverloadedtofly.
