Employee Morale refers to an attitude of satisfaction with a desire to continue and strive for attaining the objectives of a factory. Morale is purely emotional. It is an attitude of an employee towards his job, his superior and his organization. It is not static thing, but it changes depending on working conditions, superiors, fellow workers pay and so on.Morale may range from very high to very low. High Morale is evident from the positive feelings of employees such as enthusiasm, desire to obey orders, willingness to co-operate with coworkers. Poor or low Morale becomes obvious from the negative feelings of employees such as dissatisfaction, discouragement or dislike of the job. One of the biggest problems that any business can have to deal with is low employee morale. This is especially true for a small business where most likely every employee knows each other. The bottom line is that a high morale work place is essential to any business. Swarnaraj Engineering Works, Coimbatore is a Medium Scale Industry, is facing low productivity, increase in labour cost and total cost of goods sold. It is leading to high price fixation. When compared to other competitors, their product price is little high. They are in the compulsion to reduce the cost and increase the Employee morale to get competitive advantage and High productivity from the limited sources. This made me to involve in this project to know about the employee morale of the employees and this would help them to overcome from the problem The main objective of the study is to identify the morale level of the employees and to know the attributes that influence their morale A research design is an arrangement of conditions for collection and analysis of data in a manner that aim combine with relevance to the research purpose with economy in procedure. The researcher had done descriptive research for studying the attitude of the employee. A simple descriptive research design is used when data are collected to describe persons, organizations, settings, or phenomena. Sample design refers to the technique or the procedure the research would adopt in selecting item for the sample. Probabilistic sampling design has been used to conduct the research. Sampling unit is the basic unit containing the elements of a target population. The sampling unit of the study is only the employees of Swarnaraj Engineering Works at Coimbatore. Population of this study is 300. The study contains a sample size of 150 employees of Swarnaraj Engineering Works. Simple random sampling is adopted as sampling technique. It is also known probability sampling where each and every item in the population has an equal chance of inclusion in the sample and each one

of possible samples in case finite universes, has the same probability of being selected. The data was collected from the both primary and secondary sources. Tools Used For Data Analysis Percentage Analysis Chi-square Test Anova Kruskal Wallis Test

The company should improve job satisfaction among employees by implementing appropriate job enhancement and enrichment techniques and provide adequate compensation and appreciation for quality work. To create jobs that provides opportunity for expression of creativity and competence. Planning and implementing training methods for selfdevelopment of the work force. To create opportunities that will enable the workers to participate in management related activities. Morale in a business organization is an attitude of emotional readiness, which enables an employee to improve his productivity. When an organization motivates its employees to a high degree, resultant morale in the organization will be equally high. Motivation is the process and morale is the product. Therefore, continuous monitoring and improvement of morale is necessary for an organization.
