The following data is based on the non-institutional population, which excludes people living in hospitals, nursing
homes, prisons, etc.
A 20% sample was used to compile statistics. One in five households were surveyed and the results were then
multiplied to obtain representative data for the whole community.
Statistics Canada rounds numbers over ten to the nearest five, which may cause some totals to be off by five, ten,
or more. Numbers less than ten are rounded to zero or ten.
