Introduction:

Happiness of life depends on both physical and mental healthiness. Mental Health is more important than physical health of a person. A mentally healthy man feel more enthusiasm in doing any work. It may defers based on age, sex, race etc. We posses different types of mental health in different stages of life. Teenage is an essential and most important part of them.

Mental Health:
A relatively enduring state of emotional and psychological well-being in which an individual has effected an integration of his instinctual drives in a way that is reasonably satisfying to him as reflected in his zest for living and his feeling of self-realization is called Mental Health. It enables human to use his or her cognitive and emotional capabilities, function in society, and meet the ordinary demands of everyday life. So a person's overall emotional and psychological condition refers to his/her Mental Health.

Mental Health of Teenagers:


Will we ever understand teens? This is as puzzling question as the question of chicken or egg. While we might not ever truly understand teens, we can know about what makes them behave the way they do. Teen age is a very important part of everybodies life but it is not easy to pass smoothly. Teen years are tough, yet many teens balance the requisite angst with good friendships, success in school or outside activities, and the development of a strong sense of self. But most of the teenagers mental health is full of confusion. Teenagers face a host of pressures, from the changes of puberty to questions about whom they are and where they fit in. The natural transition from child to adult can also bring parental conflict as teens start to assert their independence. They feel all kinds of pressures to do well in school, to be popular with peers, to gain the approval of parents, to make the team, to be cool etc.

Morever it isnt always easy to differentiate between whether they are suffering from depression or in normal teenage moodiness. Sometimes they do not necessarily show sad, nor do they always withdraw from others that makes situation more comlpicated for them. For some depressed teens, symptoms of irritability, aggression, and rage are more prominent.

Signs and Symbols of mental depression on teens:


Very often we observe the following sign and symbols among depressed mental health conditions among teenagers like

Sadness or hopelessness Irritability, anger, or hostility Tearfulness or frequent crying Withdrawal from friends and family Loss of interest in activities Changes in eating and sleeping habits Restlessness and agitation Feelings of worthlessness and guilt Lack of enthusiasm and motivation Fatigue or lack of energy Difficulty concentrating Thoughts of death or suicide

Effects of depressed teen health:


The negative effects of teenage depression go far beyond a melancholy mood. Many rebellious and unhealthy behaviors or attitudes in teenagers are actually indications of depression. The following are some the ways in which teens act out or act in in an attempt to cope with their emotional pain:

Problems at school: Depression can cause low energy and concentration difficulties.

At school, this may lead to poor attendance, a drop in grades, or frustration with schoolwork in a formerly good student.

Ways of gettting them out of depression:


Offer support: Let teenagers know that youre there for them, fully and unconditionally.

Hold back from asking a lot of questions (teenagers dont like to feel patronized or crowded), but make it clear that youre ready and willing to provide whatever support they need.
Be gentle but persistent: Dont give up though they shut you out at first. Talking about

depression can be very tough for teens. Be respectful of childs comfort level while still emphasizing your concern and willingness to listen.
Listen without lecturing: Resist any urge to criticize or pass judgment once the teenager

begins to talk. The important thing is that child is communicating. Avoid offering unsolicited advice or ultimatums as well.
Validate their feelings: Dont try to talk teens out of their depression, even if their

feelings or concerns appear silly or irrational. Simply acknowledge the pain and sadness they are feeling. If you dont, they will feel like you dont take their emotions seriously.
Treatment: If the situatin is serious then it should provide treatment and making sure

that teenager is following all treatment instruction and going with therapy.

Conclusion:
Mental health of teenagers is more obvious and most imprtant part of every human. It is the energy of life and work. Many people faces mentally unhealthiness or mental depression in their teenage due to different reasons and circumstances. It has a life time effects on human body and

mind. So maintaining mental health or being more carefull about teenagers is much more important for every parents.
