Executive Director The Scleroderma Foundation/Southern California Chapter seeks a dedicated Executive Director with a wellestablished track record

in leading and scaling an organization or business, developing and executing financial growth strategies, and building partnerships to lead the continued development and growth of this health organization. The Chapter will consider candidates with a range of career profiles whose core values and leadership abilities match the demands of the Executive Director role. The Executive Director will report to, and work closely with, the Executive Committee and Board of Directors to implement the organizations fundraising and programmatic goals. Duties and Responsibilities The Executive Director's primary responsibilities will be fundraising, revenue generation, scaling up the organization, and financial oversight and will include the following: 1 Develop and execute a diversified fundraising action plan to maintain and significantly increase revenue from various sources, including major donors, foundations, corporations, membership, and constituency, with the support of the Board of Directors. Represent and promote the organization externally to appropriate stakeholders for fundraising and partnership opportunities and enhance the scleroderma community through a variety of engagement activities, including in-person meetings, conferences, and networking occasions. Lead the growth of the organization by assisting in the recruitment of additional board members and creating, securing funds for, and implementing a Strategic Plan. Collaborate with the Board of Directors to forecast and implement a 3-year rolling budget and ensure resources are sufficient to carry out current programs as well as future goals based on the strategic plan. Oversee the financial strength of the organization including developing long and short-range financial priorities accurately to support the needs of the program and staff, monitoring the budget, and ensuring sound financial controls are in place.

Additional responsibilities include the following: Organizational management 1 Cultivate and sustain a productive and mutually supportive relationship with the Board of Directors by providing them with information and other resources, promptly informing them of material issues and opportunities that may affect the organization, and recommending appropriate courses of action for discussion. Ensure organizational strategy, objectives, and priorities are clearly communicated to staff and membership to ensure staff focus is continually aligned with the Foundations objectives.

Public and community support 1 2 Ensure marketing and communication initiatives are innovative and revenue enhancing. Expand awareness of our program achievements and establish the organization as a credible and accessible resource, making the case effectively for supporting projects.

Drive and enhance social media and creative content strategy to increase membership, donations and disease awareness.

Program implementation and evaluation 1 2 Continue to refine and implement measurement metrics to quantify the effectiveness of the Chapters programs. Set appropriate goals and objectives for programs and ensure expectations are met or exceeded.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have the following minimum qualifications: 1 2 3 4 5 Substantive, relevant work experience, with 3+ years in a senior managerial role Demonstrated success in securing funding for and scaling up an organization or a business/program function Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to attract funders and partners by communicating a compelling and inspired sense of purpose Superior external communications skills, including advanced public speaking and media management experience, as well as enthusiasm for speaking in public. Proven management skills with experience to plan, organize, and execute a program of work, analyze and solve complex issues, obtain significant funding support, and work closely with a board of directors. Record of sound financial management in developing and executing an annual budget of at least $1 million. Demonstrated ability to work in an environment that celebrates teamwork and to negotiate and close complex or sensitive agreements in a manner that builds consensus. Experience with events including Gala, Walkathon and other revenue generating activity. Willingness to travel and work weekends. Bachelor's degree required. Experience and/or established network in public source funding a plus.
