This digital media course is structured to prepare you for a career in digital film and video production, website design, video game design, interactive media and more. Among other things, youll learn about animation, ideas generation, design research, typography, 3D design, digital video composition, Internet design technologies and game design. Youll also learn how to use Maya, Flash, After-Effects and 3D Max.

Entry Requirements

Year 12 Applicants
A minimum UAI of 60 or equivalent Portfolio and interview. Applicants need to present a well considered portfolio that displays individual talent and imagination. An applicants portfolio should display a high standard of technical presentation. The folio should contain 6-10 pieces of work, with examples drawn from a range of practice, including (for example): Drawings, illustrations or 2D art works in various media (e.g. pencil, paint, pastel, gouache) Digital works that combines typography (words) and image generated in the computer Design work (e.g. web sites, animation, 3D environments (actual or virtual), graphic design (logos, posters, flyers, stationery) Personal work like photography, film making, printmaking, craft, fashion or writing Written statement addressing one piece of work (rationalising the process of idea generation through to realisation).

Non Year 12 applicants - 18 and not yet not 21


Applicants will be required to provide documentation of any study undertaken (completed or not completed with the results in those unit/s and/or course/s) and a resume of work experience A demonstrated ability to undertake study at this level Portfolio and interview (as above).

Mature age applicants - aged 21 or over


Mature age applicants (aged 21 or over) may be admitted to the degree course on the basis of their work experience, and/or other study attempted and/or completed. Applicants will be required to provide documentation of any study undertaken (completed or not completed with the results in those unit/s and/or course/s) and a resume of work experience. A demonstrated ability to undertake study at this level

Dont have a portfolio? Billy Blues Certificate III in Design Fundamentals is an 18-week course specially designed to help you build the skills and portfolio required for successful tertiary study in the visual arts.
Location, Study Time & Start Dates

This digital media course is delivered at the Billy Blue campus in Sydney & Brisbane, the course can be completed in three years of full-time study or six years part-time. Through this 18-week course, you build a portfolio and academic skills required for tertiary study. Upon completion of this course, you can apply for entry into Billy Blues undergraduate degree programs.
